I am pretty sure Phil would be rooting for Tiger to win. All set up for the masters showdown just like the old days. The young guys will have a fight on their hands this masters against Phil, Tiger and Bubba. I am picking one of these three to win.

I'm just as excited as anyone to see Tiger playing well and hope he wins....however, I think we should temper expectations a little bit. He hasn't been in this position in years and it's really the first time under the pressure on a weekend. I hope he wins or at least plays really really well, but I think he may have 1 more step in the progression before he can win. He is definitely getting closer though and seems to be getting close to peeking for Augusta.

Agree 100%. Amen's Corner is totally fine, and is the one and only exception to the rule.

Also agree. It's more the media attempts to hype up holes to make their coverage interesting. Amen Corner is untouchable, but the others mentioned aren't anywhere near as difficult or prestigious.

No one is saying he is going to win. Even his most die hard fans never anticipated a win this soon. The only thing that makes me think he might win is based on what Phil said about Tiger might go an have 1 up and in a weird way it may happen.

 

That said his play on Saturday play has now become his worst of the 4 days. And I put that down to nerves and expectations. In his prime Saturdays were his strongest days. He had that belief that he was either going to close the leaders or take front position. And Sunday he just cruised. IMO Tiger is back when he regularly has one of the best scores on Saturday. Tomorrow we shall see.

Ted Potter has way more street cred then Conners. Potter has won like $600k on the mini tours. He can play under pressure.

Having never one on any tour, or been in contention at all on a pga event, I'm sure he is amped. I hope that he can be in one of the final groups on Sunday. Getting in as third alternate, I'm sure expectations were low on Thursday. He is supposed to be a pretty calm guy, but to keep it together with 28 other guys in red numbers chasing who all have more experience will be asking a lot.

Who knows, maybe knowing that the majority are rooting against him will help him focus.
