Titleist's new TS 2 & TS 3 driver - shot @ 2018 US Open

I ordered my TS3 with the Smoke 6.0 @ 45’ D4 plus one wrap. If it’s off they will be hearing from me for sure. With the benefit of the weights it should be no problem to accommodate these requests. BB

Just got my TS2 today, replaced my Rogue SZ. Everything about this club was better than my SZ. With that being said, am I the only one on earth who had the best numbers with the KuroKage 50 g stiff? I was so skeptical hitting such a lightweight shaft but it produced by far the best numbers for me. Been playing heavier driver shafts all my life and this is the first lightweight shaft I got along with. Hopefully Im not the only one lol

I was also fitted into the TS2 10.5 Kuro Kage 50g stiff. I am coming from an Epic with the Rogue shaft in it. Always had a 60-65g shaft in the driver.

Can anyone summarize what the majority of the 917D3 players are moving into with the TS line? Both model and lofts? If I'm in a 9.5 D3, would it be a safe bet to get the TS3 9.5?

I took out a TS2 demo paired with Tensei from my home course for a couple of holes today. I currently use an M1. What struck me was how consistent it was. Dispersion was very tight, granted with a small sample size. Length was comparable to the M1. I had some trouble working it left to right or vice versa. That TS2 head likes to go straight. The most impressive shot was my last one. Looking directly into a low sun, I knew there was no point in trying to follow the ball flight. I clearly caught the ball on the toe but when I went to find it, it was still on my target line with less distance loss than the M1.

Distance: Same

Forgiveness: TS2

Workability: M1

Feel: Personal preference. Not sure I could choose one over the other

When I went for a fit, the TS2 wasn’t even brought up. We went straight to the TS3 head and went to work. I was the same spec as you (9.5 D3), and was fit in to the same head pretty seamlessly.

I went to a Titleist Thursday event to get fitted. I'm coming from the 917D2 9.5* and hit both the TS2 and TS3. For me, both clubs performed similarly, but I like the shape of the TS3 better. To me the TS2 is an exaggerated version of the D2 and looks very elongated. My fitter thought those individuals playing the D3 will most likely prefer the TS3.

My fitter also stated that he typically sees the players coming from the 917 line fitting into the same loft or a degree lower due to the reduced spin of the TS models.

I would think the opposite. Lower spin would force you to go up a degree unless your spin was already way too high to begin with. If X head is lower spinning than Y using the same loft, going down a degree is only going to reduce the spin more.

I'm hearing not to rule out the TS2 for those coming over from the D3. I already decided I prefer the head shape of the TS3 but have yet to get fitted. Staffer friend said to give the TS2 a fair shake.

Coming from the 917D3 9.5 with Diamana Whiteboard 70X at 44.75" and I was fitted into the TS3 8.5 with EFW 65X at 44.75 with +2 weight.

I wanted to be able to change the face angle a touch closed with the increase in loft setting, which worked. I got a much more piercing ball flight compared to my 917 9.5 loft and overall distance increase on Trackman. Spin was lowered.

I went down a degree going from 917 to TS3, using the exact same shaft. I had the 917D2 so it's not completed apples to apples but a 9.5 TS3 launched noticeably higher than my 9.5 917. 8.5 looks has about perfect launch to my eye.

I did exactly the same! I am 9.5 in the D2 and was fitted into the 8.5 in the TS3 because I was launching it that bit higher on average. I was surprised by how it changed the look of the ball flight to my eye with it only being a one degree difference.

I went from a 9.5 D2 to a 8.5 TS3 to bring down both my launch and spin.

Also went to a much stronger shaft from what I was playing.

Going 8.5. The most shocking thing was the Even Flow White shaft. I put my gamer Atmos in the TS3 and the Even Flow (on launch monitor) destroyed it.

I'm shocked you're going with the EF White, too! This is the non-HC model?

I'm not going with it for sure. I haven't done enough testing for the driver.. we kind of threw it in at the end of my iron fitting. I'll probably pony up for an outdoor fitting for the driver.

I've had the same Diamana D+ in my driver since the the 913 series but the Even Flow was able to dislodge that as well.

Exactly the same here, currently play a 9.5* in 915D3, down to an 8.5* in the TS3. Shows up tomorrow, cannot wait.

So I just picked up the ts2 after a fitting and picked up an avg of 23yds and 6mph ball speed. I couldn’t wait for my custom order to arrive as I leave on a golf trip next week. Since I was fitted for a 45 inch driver do I just add 2 grams of lead tape right over the weight until I can purchase the weights after my trip? Just for reference I played the 915d2 in 10.5 w an ad di tipped an inch and will be using the same shaft in my ts2. The stock smoke shaft did give pretty close numbers however and felt great.

what do you attribute the gain in ball speed to, was your clubhead speed much different over the 915?

Honestly my club head speed wasn’t that much different. I picked up maybe 1 mph of clubhead speed so not substantial. I think it just comes down to this being a hotter head and maintaining ball speed all throughout the club face. If I didn’t see it for my own eyes on the trackman I wouldn’t believe it. I will say the feel and sound of the ts2 is miles ahead of the 915 and I love my 915

I'm in total agreement with this. A good hit is still a good hit whether it is with the TS or an older model, where the TS really came into it's own for me was on mishits. I just couldn't believe how far out they were getting.

I got the TS2. How do I know what weight Titleist added to accommodate 45"? Mine is blank, but red outline.

I picked up my TS3 last night that was ordered at 45" with a +2 weight. Swing weight came out to D4.

What I'm curious about is how you know it's a +2 weight? Mine doesn't say anything.

Then it is just the standard weight.
