In hand photos of the Ping i500 irons (MERGED)

I'll reiterate, from pics, they are the best looking irons I have ever seen.

 

So they appear to be a power blade, not something you would find any help from.

 

You don't think this will help launch?

 

I should have been more specific. Launch help is great as I am a low ball hitter. I also tend to miss on the toe. Wondering if there will be any help there.

 

They don't seem all that small from pics I've seen....if these answer T-mb,pxg or P790 with better feel (which I've heard) that gives me launch back in a great looking package I'm all in!

At a glance, a great follow up for s55 fans (that didn't love the iblades - which was common)

repeat, this iron is not (follow-up/replacement of/from the lineage of) the S series/iBlade line from PING.

Surprising to me that there is a big market for a players iron with explosive distance.

 

sounds like a good choice for maybe a 5, 4 and 3 iron.

Agree. The 'explosive distance' statement scared me a little as well but the profile looks great.

 

Matt Wallace, winner of 2018 BMW INTERNATIONAL uses 3,4 and 5i in these .....sounds like the explosive distance is tame enough for touring Pros....

I think I’d rather have the old ping finish that doesn’t look as good as the hydropearl, but that doesn’t look the slightest bit used after 3 seasons ,on these.

for your choices look at everything that is available for the current i200 on PING website.

 

FWIW the i500 will come "stock" with Dynamic Gold 105.

the toe screw is the weight, no tungsten under the logo.

I will be intrigued to see that they were fairly clear about avoiding the term "forgiveness" but really aimed at maintaining ball speed in larger portion of the club face.
