Spoke to the pros at my local and they hinted that it may be foam filled And sit between the I210 and G400.

Not sure that's correct.

They sound like they have their fingers on the pulse.

I believe that's wrong. Kenny Puckett might chime in. He knows what's going on.

Might anyone know if Ping plans to offer these in a full set or just 3 4 5 irons?

There is no reason to believe that they are not offered as a full set.

are there also new hybrids, woods and drivers coming soon'ish?

I doubt it because the G400 lineups haven't been around that long.

I can’t imagine that they’d bring back the iseries for Woods a d hybrids. The G400 covers such a wide range.

Was able to hit these a week ago and they feel awesome. Definitely prefer the smaller overall size and especially the topline compared to the 790's. Feel was just as good or if not better than the 790's in my opinion. Distance was about about the same as a 790 for me. I think we're going to see a lot of people trade in their 790's for these given the small size and similar performance. The i210 didn't do anything special for me and the glide forged wedge looks and feels amazing, but at $200 I don't know if many people would choose it over a mack daddy forged or similar forged wedge.

For those who have held or hit the i500 irons how does the sole compare with the G400 and G700 irons ???

I am most interested in sole width, length, and turf interaction for those who were lucky enough to hit these.

Someone here who's opinion I respect said they would have the sole of the I200's and the offset of the Iblade.

Thanks for comments. Without seeing them in person or better yet demoing them it looks like I should be able to game the i500's. However, I'll soon be 64 and I've lost a little bit of distance so perhaps the G700's may be a better fit. Once Ping release the specs on these perhaps a G700/i500 may be the best of both worlds. Without seeing the specs I thinking G700 5,6,7 and i500 power spec 8,9,P,U. This configuration may give me exactly what I'm looking for. Good distance and forgiveness with the G700's and better turf interaction, more spin with my approach irons. I have never demoed the G700 so perhaps these irons already will give me what I'm looking for without the need to go to a combo set.

I like my CF16's but a little more distance would be appreciated now, but the biggest improvement I'm looking for is distance control. The CF16's just do not give me consistent distances and green holding, and IMO is due to too low of spin. Too often I'm in the middle of the fairway and well struck approach shots are flying the green by 10 to 15 yards. Many people love their CF16's and so do I, but the number one reason people move on to other sticks is improved distance control. Similar to what is happening with the P790 irons.

i can confirm this also.

ping where down at the national fitting centre when i saw them. the staff where getting training from ping directly. they was told that the technology and the success from the g700 was too good to have it one range of club. they are aiming the i500 at people that like a compact head but need a little help.

from the impression i was given these are pings answer to the titleist tmb

From the pic, they are just about the best looking iron I've ever seen. If they also blend feel and forgiveness, heaven help my wallet.

Konk.... This is pretty much my thought exactly.

Everything that I want in the looks department (looks like a muscle back)

But, i might actually be able to hit it. (more like a i200 than the S series/iBlades that I have been playing)

i mean the damn thing is gorgeous....

I have a fitting set up in a couple of weeks when the stuff comes in, and we are going all in....
