What's with the hosel? Is that a swing weighting thing

That's part of Ping's normal design to make it easier to adjust lie angles.

Thank you.

As a matter of principle I have not bought anything from Ping or Titleist so haven't paid attention. Nothing against their products but the policy of not allowing retailers to display the prices on their web sites (in Australia) is just so ridiculous and archaic that I don't want to support it.

Spoken by a man of strong principles who just bought a Ping putter an hour ago ;)

Ping is accepting my order next week but delivery not allowed till end of July

Who knows what the stock shaft options are?

Interesting. I just spoke with my local Edwin Watts. They contacted Ping for me and were told that pre-orders were not being taken until around the middle of July when the demo heads become available.

Preordering mine next week

Want to know lofts if anyone has info

I'll be going red dot, plus 0.75", 6-pw in incremental swing weights .. pw will be orange dot

3 iron is 18°

U wedge is 50°

That’s all I remember from the presentation I saw about a month ago. Full details coming Monday from the good folks at Ping though.

LOVE the look of these irons. My hesitation is if they feel like the T-MB then it's sadly a hard pass for me. I hated the feel of the T-MB. P790 were nice but very "clicky". I'd love to see Ping go with a filled cavity but it sounds like that's not the case here.

Still looking forward to trying them out soon.

although these look nice and maybe be forged (and I'm a Ping fan)...they'll likely cost as much as Mizunos or even Miuras and we all know that they're the best forgings in the world. I say just stick to forged wedges and get out of the forged iron game altogether and let the experts stick to it. Ping's strengths are drivers, cast irons, forged wedges and putters imo

I’m currently playing MP-53s but am feeling like I need something a little more forgiving. I haven’t hit any of this breed of hollow iron, know they say they are forged so two questions really:

Are they likely to be more forgiving than my MP-53s?

How is the feel compared to a more traditional forged club?

Have to say, these have caught my eye in a big way and the last time I said that about a Ping iron was about 20 years ago when I bought a set of ISI’s. Can’t wait for them to get to stores.

my thoughts exactly....Ping's not known for their forged irons from the past

I much prefer the look of these but if I get new Ping irons I may go i210.

Can anyone comment on the distance these offer? I do not want or need more distance from my irons, I am concerned these may be too hot.

If you think these particular clubs are in the "Mizuno-Miura" area, you're comparing two very different sets of clubs. Those forgings are not even close to being constructed the same way. One is a forged solid head, and the Pings here are hollow. Very, very different in construction and performance. So different, they warrant their own pricing, and shouldn't be compared as the same kind of iron.

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

To my knowledge Ping hasn’t had a forged wedge since the Ansers in 2013, and those didn’t exactly feel great.

The new forged wedges will be the first forged since then if I’m not mistaken.

How ironic it would be if Bob Parsons was eagerly awaiting the first i500 heads to see if he felt he had cause to sue Ping for patent infringement.

I'm not suggesting there actually is any here, but given his reaction to the P790 there's got to be a chance he will look into it

I’d think Mr HoDaddy would know not to kick a hornet nest.

Those look really nice. I wonder how it would affect feel if you used the lightest weight screw and used a lot of hotmelt to get the weight back up?

"PING's Hydropearl 2.0 chrome finish repels water for more consistency shots from rough and wet grass while resisting scratches and wear."

So much for that resisting scratching. The PW looks like the same scuffing my i200's received after a couple rounds.

https://www.amazon.c...114079201&psc=1

Well aware of scotch brite. My point was, Ping shouldn't say this new 2.0 finish resists scratching but then the first photo that I see has scratching on the club.

That is the only negative on my 700s, after 2 rounds they looked like I had them 6 months. I could buff them up, but one thing is they didn't continue to scratch up so I am not sure I want to see what happens if I clean them up.

Maybe that’s why ping isn’t filling the head with foam?

These look great. Could see a lot of i500/iBlade combos.

I would love to go 7-W in these to go with my g700s. All sorts of options

I was thinking the same thing. I love my G400’s, but I was thinking a combo set of 4,5 in G700 and 6-UW in i500 could be awesome.

It does make you wonder if the engineers that parsons recruited from Ping were already working on these.

Why are so many s55 and iblade users so sure they want these instead of the iblade replacement?

These have all the looks but i want a little more help with mishits.

Makes sense.

That’s why I want them. And I want the retro lofts in the shorter irons standard in the mid and power in the long irons I think as I have gaps that start to bunch as the irons get longer
