You mention the Evolution V is designed to replace and improve upon the original Evo 1. The Evo 1 seemed to have the softest mid-to-tip sections of the versions I’ve tried (1-3) and caused a left tendency for my swing and higher spin rates, but loved the feel so the lower torque and spin numbers intrigues me. Can you explain exactly what these new materials will do to enhance the performance of the shaft? And how does that correlates for someone looking to eliminate a left tendency?

The original TourSpec 757 was one of the "Founding Fathers" of modern shaft design for its feel and it's playability. What elements does Evolution V carry over from the original design and what makes the new model once again be the shaft that is "The Shaft to play"

When working on the new profile. Who did you have in mind more, tour players or average golfers?

How does the Evo V compare in performance to the Evo 1 it's designed to replace? On tour, I've seen a lot of Evo 1s in drivers. When a wood shaft is designed, do you look at profile or a particular application/club to fit? Thank you for your time!!

What has had a bigger impact in shaft technology lately, the new materials being used or the actual layering/patterns of actually rolling the shaft?

 

What are some of the biggest highlights of the new Evo 5? I really enjoyed the feel of the Evo 3 and 4 series, how will the 5 improve on these performance wise? In reading the description of the new shaft, I like the softer mid/tip section for increasing launch! This sounds like it would be fun to try paired in my G400 LST!

Do you guys have any input, or do you reach out to any of the equipment manufacturers to gather information to gear technology towards what they are doing as well? Or do you guys use "dummy" heads to check performance?

If the Evolution V is replacing the original blue shaft Evolution in what ways are they the same?

I am intrigued by these as I like a softer mid to tip section. But as I'm aging I'm also going lighter weight. I've always had some success with the 661 and wonder does the softness increase as the weight of the shaft decreases? In other words will I notice a drastically different feel if I move down in weight to the 569 or will that mid to tip feel remain consistent from the 661 to the 569?

First off, I play a Evo IV 757 in my driver and love it.

 

With that in mind, how much different are the IV and the new V in terms of launch and spin? Will the V still be low torque?

 

During my fitting for the IV, I found the Evo III and IV to be very close to each other in terms of launch and spin with the IV launching ever so slightly higher. Is there a larger separation in launch and spin between the IV and V? Or will the V be just as close as the III currently is?

How is a high launch, low spin design obtained? I have always been under the impression that increasing the launch will increase the spin by default. Of course, shaft design has evolved so much in recent years.

 

Also, do you find the tour players gravitating to really low torque rates shafts? It seemed that the top players were always going for a very stiff profile with low torque. Does modern shaft design allow you to increase torque/feel while maintaining stability?

 

Also, given the launch characteristics, do you see this being adopted more as a fairway shaft? Are you seeing any tour interest in driver?

All shafts released from various manufacturers with T1100 involved have been some of (if not THE) lowest shaft that they have produced, yet this model seems to be a healthy blend of low-mid according to the releases I've seen - how was your use of T1100 different than some of the other manufacturers?

I've been a very long time user of the original Speeder 757, specifically the taylormade branded red/silver ion version. I keep gravitating back to it and have had loads of them over the years.

 

In really simple terms, which of the 757 variants in your current line-up (Evos and TR) would be the closest to this old school shaft, which still feels and performs great?

Played the original Speeder Evolution I 757, can you walk through -- besides the material upgrades -- the changes that we should see between the original and the new Evo V? How does Fujikura provide a mid/high launch shaft while keeping spin low? Many thanks!
