Come on now. Let's turn down the hyperbole a notch. He played a phenomenal round but, let's be honest, some of those wayward drives on the front were blown so far offline that he actually wound up with some really good lies.

I agree, it reminded me of phils final round in the 2006 US open. He made chicken salad out of chicken s_ _ _t which is commendable but like you said lots of great breaks.Even on 17 his ball plugged in the bank otherwise like Pieters ball its in the creek and he likely make bogey. Good for him, he played great and generated alot of excitement but hes making phil look like a consistent driver at this point. The conditions helped him and alot of players hit recovery shots.

I was happy to see Cink do so well especially after missing a 2 footer early.

Nick, Gary, and some Nantz wouldn't shut up about Koepka's biceps and his build. He's not that big, the TV adds weight and the majority of Tour Pros are slender... Which makes him look built by comparison.

Regardless he smokes the ball, but has great touch as well.

I thought that if healthy, Tiger might be able to equal Jack's 1982 season, let's see how he's doing

Jacks' 1982 season at age 42

tournaments played: 15

wins: 1 @ Colonial

2nds: 3 @ US Open, San Diego, Bay Hill

3rd: 2 @ Crosby, Kemper

total top 10s: 7

made cuts: 12 out of 15

money list #12

Tiger at age 42

tournaments played to date: 14

wins: 0

2nds: 2 @ PGA, Valspar

3rds: 0

total top 10s: 5

cuts made: 12 out of 14

Fed Ex Cup race: #20

pretty good and he's got some more tournaments to play, he just needs that one win

You know, it's the major before the USPGA. ;)

Nope. Never heard of it. Do you mean The Open?

What Koepka has done is astounding. I see no reason for it not to continue.

Tiger literally has one thing to fix and he could challenge Jack's record.

I love the enthusiasm but thats not how golf works. Im sure the last 2 majors have helped his confidence but one foot after the other. He still hits wild shots under pressure and the conditions helped him recover from those today.he should be very proud of himself for sure. he caught fire with the irons on the weekend and and made some putts to keep momentum going. Great weekend and tourney for him.i just cant understand koepka, how can one be such an average tour player ( results wise) and catch lightning in a bottle 3 times now in majors...Crazy stuff. 18 top 10s in 3 years and 3 majors.

It's opinion not enthusiasm. And you kind of made my point. His wild shots are from the tee. And he didn't catch fire with his irons. They have been progressing upwards all season.

Not really, its been helter skelter ie last week.

So you've never made a mistake in your life? Why judge a man for only the things he's done wrong...have you ever done anything like this:

"In over the 20 years that this foundation has been opened they have served more than 175,000 students, as well as employing 1,000 educators each year. The foundation has been so successful due to its goal of “developing self-advocacy skills in young people,” that their students have a 98.7% college graduation rate, which is one of the highest graduation rates of a scholarship program in the country.

One of the greatest things about this foundation is that Tiger Woods created this program because he saw a hole in the society that he wanted to fill. He created this foundation because “I wanted a permanent, safe space for kids to explore their dreams” -Tiger Woods. He founded this program to help impoverished children and young adults, and in the past 22 years of it being opened, he has exceeded all expectations of this foundation."

I've never understood the whole "You once stole some paper clips from the office so you have no right to judge someone who cheated on his wife with 14 assorted skanks, skeezers, and pornstars." That's just silly relativism. We're all free to root for or against whomever we want for whatever reason we want. I've seen Tiger fans on this forum daily saying they can't root for various players because of much sillier reasons than infidelity. "Jordan Spieth - too fidgety." "Justin Thomas - too smug." "Jason Day - too sickly." "Rory - talks too much." "DJ - too sleepy." "Reed - wore red and black on Sunday once." I myself find it hard to root for Tiger not because of him, but because of his fans.

Did I ever say he had "no right to judge someone..."? Nope.

I simply asked a question and implied that he should consider the good things Tiger has done along with the bad. And, consider not making inflammatory remarks about him because yes we have all made mistakes.

Also, I never suggested that he or anyone else wasn't free to root for or against whomever they want.

I myself find it frustrating to respond to posts like yours when you clearly didn't read or comprehend my post. And you're lumping me in with a bunch of other people when I all I did was point out that Tiger has done some good in his life.

Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant are/were both active in charitable causes. Both are/were jerks. I never rooted for Jordan or Kobe either. Sorry, just how I roll. I've also been a fan of guys that seemed okay and then it came out that they were jerks. I stopped rooting for those guys. Sorry, it's just how I roll.

No problem. It's none of my business who you root for and I don't care.

My post was only in response to your words like " "He hasn't cheated on his wife with porn stars or Perkins waitresses, ...-1. He hasn't amassed hundreds of millions of dollars and still stiffs people on tips...you guessed it...another -1."

These just seem like low, unnecessary blows at this point.

What a great tournament. I watched most of it, but I haven't showered in 4 days... hopefully Adam Scott returns my shower rod so that I can do so now.

Course is not major championship worthy when you can miss every fairway on the front nine and still shoot 3 under par.

Being able to hit the fairway should count for something. It no longer does.

No kidding.....to include the "drop" that Tiger got while next to the cart path.....where he got to place the ball on a perfect lie, 2 club lengths closer to the fairway, which then gave him a direct shot at the pin. Major Championships really need to penalize errant shots, whether they are off the tee or into the green. That said, what a fantastic round by Tiger. He sure gave it a run today!

Tiger always struck me as "fake"...I don't know why, I just never bought his public persona. I wasn't a Tiger fan before his dirty laundry was aired out in the public's view, but I didn't root against him either...I was "Tiger agnostic". All of those stories just reinforced my suspicions once they were out.

I'm right there with you, B.

I acknowledge Tiger's greatness and his massive impact on golf, and I am on record here as declaring Tiger the greatest golfer of all time. But I can not pull for people I do not like.

Focus sensei.....channel your innermost desires to be great 4 times a year....forget the rest of the schedule....

Seriously its unheard of. Tiger has now 5 top 10s i believe but has a careers worth of majors experience and wins in majors to lean on so him contending in a major for me isnt a wild idea, where as Brooks is literally and im not insulting him by saying despite his OWGR which heavily leans on his majors a mid level player results wise on tour. he barely contends. Its just weird.im not calling him lucky or flukey, its just bizarre to me. Definitely not the norm

I thought the key to Brooks' round was getting the dip refill in the 15th fairway.

Birdie, birdie and it was over

i thought i was the only one who saw that...

Who cares? It was a great leaderboard with an exciting finish. I prefer this to a US Open war of attrition where it’s nearly impossible for the big names to make a run if they’re more than a few strokes back.

Incredible golf and this was an important day for everyone to take note of: Tiger can play to his absolute limits and still be comfortably beaten. If he needed a marker he now knows what he has to do to win. I'm interested to see if he can figure it out.

I don't think that was his A game. We'll see if he can straighten out the tee shots. Maybe call Butch or Butch's sons and see if they can help.

Yea he was throwing darts with his irons when he had a good look at the pin. He would have been on 59 watch if he could hit a fairway with his driver.

Or any other club. He missed badly hitting irons off the tee, as well.

As a father of a 14 and 11 year old girl I find it very hard to root for him in light of his indescretions and his total disrespect of women. Men are mostly pigs and almost every single man thinks every single woman wants to see his junk. I would love to see history, but won’t lose sleep if it doesn’t happen. He’s a miserable human being by most accounts

I meant to imply that he should consider having a little gentleness in his judgement and not be so brutal in his remarks because we have all made mistakes in our life.

And I implied that he should consider the good things Tiger has done along with the bad.

Also, I never suggested that he or anyone else wasn't free to root for or against whomever they want.

You plainly said "you've never made a mistake in your life?" Implying that BForrester should show Tiger some gentleness or forbearance because he's made mistakes in his life as well yes? What is that if not drawing a parallel between whatever his sins may be and the sins of Tiger? Otherwise why bring up BForrester's sins to make your point? If I understand the whole premise of your argument it's that infidelity is a dumb reason for him to root against Tiger. That's why I brought up all the stupid reasons folks on the forum have given in the past for rooting against different players. I never accused you of being one of those Tiger fans who nitpick other players.

Maybe Koepka is like Cabrera and just doesn't give a hoot about the regular events. Kinda strange though. You would think the huge prize money on the regular tour would be good motivation for all of those guys.
