This was absolutely Trust Fund Tron's doing. I have no doubt in my mind about that.

 

It was very "scummy" (using their lingo) of them to not at least ask City for permission of use. Completely agree that if they had asked him first and offered a gift card to the store that not many people would have an issue with that.

I don't know that I can say the same about BS (My experience is limited to knowledge of Portnoy's puerile oeuvre, their corporate defense mechanism of siccing their social media sycophants on any critics, and a dozen aborted attempts to listen to Pardon my Take and their hockey and golf podcasts, none of which I made it through a full episode). Yet they have a huge following (Pardon my Take is the #1 sports podcast on iTunes) so I guess I could be wrong.

If someone is saying "I'm working on something that's going to look like this and I'll send you the link when it's ready", that's a lot different than someone who just says "It'd be cool if someone did this"

 

I'd be surprised if the person who mentioned that someone should photoshop those guys into that painting probably *edit* IS annoyed that City actually did it.

 

But if you really think an idea is great and you plan on developing and sharing it, keep it to yourself until it's ready.

it's people who don't know how to use photoshop (or even Paint) on a rudimentary level. If that was someone's idea who was capable of doing it, they would have done it. It took 10 minutes.

If Dick's put one of OCGolfRick or Eagle's most popular/funny memes on a shirt and started selling it without giving them credit, we'd all be mad. Doesn't matter if it's the guy on the street corner or a big corporation.

 

With all that being said and as we've gone down this rabbit hole, I think their social media should be blown up by everyone because of this. They already got in trouble for "ambush marketing". It's obvious they are pushing the boundaries of what they can and cannot do. They got caught, again.

Woman I work with is playing in the US Senior Women's Amateur this weekend from Cedar Rapids.

 

I doubt she makes it out of stroke play, but I don't know. She got spanked in the MD Women's Am, but that was more than seniors.

Took one of my wooden nickels out to Glenn Dale yesterday, wanted to get a round in there before they close September 2. Left work a bit late and had to dash to the first tee (10) with no warm up. Double double on the first two holes and double on both par 5's led to a not very exciting 89. The greens are sparse in spots but the Bermuda fairways are in great shape. It is a shame that this neat little course will soon be houses. Get out there if you can before it closes.

The ball is currently being golfed, that's for sure. Playing my best coming in to the things that matter most to me.

 

Bethpage weekend coming up. Green on Friday, Black on Saturday, then jetting home in the afternoon. Really confident in my irons and putting right now. Not so confident with the driver, which I need to rectify before Saturday. I hit driver 4-5 times at Challedon, but that is not an option for the Black. You have to hit driver out there on at least 10 or 11 holes. Green is a shorter course, so need to use that as a good warmup to bang the D as much as possible rather than just playing it for my lowest score.

I'll tell you what. The 10 day weather forecast starting on Friday looks A+ primo very good. Might even get a little nipply in the car overnight Friday.

Last year it rained all day and every course was closed on Friday. Had a fun extended parking lot hang, but it was kind of a kick in the nads to drive 5 hours to find everything closed. Looking forward to the good weather karma to make up for that.
