I play with mine on. It was a little uncomfortable at first, but I built up some tougher skin there quickly.

Years ago, I helped a guy find his ring at Rock Creek. He took it off and put it in his bag, and it fell out of the bag at some point. Don't do that. He knew the hole he lost it on and the general route he took on that hole, but it was still difficult to find.

I took it off the first couple times I played after getting married. I've worn it every round since. I'd feel uncomfortable gripping a club without it at this point.

save your data for the daily recaps that include pics like this one you sent yesterday. want me to say it? fine, i'll say it. JEALOUS AF.

Congrats Goose!

My ring is tungsten with a little step/ledge along the edge which can dig at times. It used to really bother me when I first had it but like Sully, the skin around the ring got a little tougher so now I don't notice it that much. I'd say the majority of the time I just wear my ring but if it's hot and humid and I'm going to go pound balls at the range for two hours or if I'm playing more than 18, I take it off. I have one of those silicone rings that I wear for working out and I'll sometimes wear it to play.

Funny story about losing a wedding ring....

About a year after we moved to the area, I was doing field work one day (usually involving being on or around a farm). I go to cross a ditch in my truck and get stuck. Sometime while trying to get myself unstuck, I managed to lose my ring. I called a co-worker who just so happened to have a metal detector. He grabs it and comes over to help locate it. Turns out tungsten doesn't set off the metal detector very well, especially with soils rich in iron. We searched for a few hours and never found it. My wife didn't question me about my story since I was covered in mud when I got home. Nobody is hookin' a side piece when you have mud caked on you from head to toe.

my ring is made out of titanium, with little bands of something else in it. didn't cost much at all.

if you lose it, it's never just the ring.

i really should have been slick about it and bought 2 identical ones from the jump.

I lost my first wedding ring. Thankfully it was not done something that would lead to me getting grief for it. I was clearing the leaves from the yard, and it slipped off at some point when I was bagging them all. Of course I didn't notice until I was done, and there were 30 lawn bags full of leaves staring me in the face. I wasn't dumping them all out to maybe find it. Wife was fine with that decision since it was 4+ years ago now, and she hasn't divorced me or even given me a hard time about it yet.

When I was looking initially, I was shopping for cheapo mens rings because I really didnt care. When I picked the one I wanted - my wife was going to buy it - I also went and bought two additional ones, the same size and a half size bigger. Super smart on my part.

Then my wife called an audible and had a custom ring made. That cant be resized to my now more-gianter fingers.

Dummy...right here.

I never wear my ring anymore. That's why I get the eye from so many ladies.

I used to wear it and took it off for everything... Eating, showering, exercising. Then I just stopped eventually.

I'm home sick today. Not too bad but just getting some rest. I'm sure the Bethpage hang + sleep didn't help.

Anyway... Not to bury the lede but I was searching through Netflix and found a Chinese movie with Mike Tyson and Steven Seagall in it. They get into a fight in a bar in Africa after someone tries to get Tyson to drink a beer mug full of urine.

You can't make this stuff up.

Cant wait to get home and watch the Dunhill coverage.

I finally caught Solo this week. After being disappointed by the last couple Star Wars movies - Pt 8 and Rogue One - I thought this was really not bad. Donald Glover sort of steals a few scenes but I thought he was great as Lando. Not going to be up for any foo-foo Oscar awards or anything but definitely worth the $5 on demand cost.

I finally watched Solo also. I really liked it.

After hearing about the production issues and bringing in Ron Howard (who i don't always like) I was leery, but it was good. Couple surprises, really true to the characters.

The guy who played Solo had a very funny role in the Coen Brothers movie "Hail Caesar".

Yeah I think I skipped it *because* of all the "issues" I kept hearing about. Not only was Donald Glover good, there were just a few sort of "tie back" moments in the movie that were really good.

Have Sicario 2 and the McGregor fight on the PPV list this weekend. Dont know if Deadpool 2 is on PPV yet or not.

Dp2 is.

I'm a little psyched for the new Halloween right now. Might go see it when it drops.

Also, saw a trailer for "Vice", an Adam McKay movie (the big short) about Dick Cheney. Christian Bale as Cheney. Sam Rockwell as Bush. TBS is one of my favorite movies. Definitely an "Oscar bait" movie given the politics and bale's transformation.

My lady is obsessed with the original Halloween and it's one of her all-time favorites. We'll probably go see the original 1978 one in the theater again next week and then we'll watch the new sequel when it comes out. Hopefully it doesn't suck. At least they made it as if the other sequels never happened. Looking forward to it.

ya boy ahoop has a new toy. He was smoking his new-to-him M3 driver last night at the range, and then declared to a stunned audience "I think I'm going to use it this weekend when I play". Audible Gasps from all of the hitting bays.

Good range sesh. I'm working on swinging with a new grip. I've gradually slid back to a weak grip (both thumbs down the top of the grip) and I've switched so that my left thumb is almost to the right of the grip, and I can see the knuckles on my left hand. Feels like I'm covering the ball so much better, but it's resulting in some pull-draws that are undoubtedly a result of hitting fades for the last year or so. Need to iron out the path.

Also feels like I can really swing at 85% and get the same distance I've been used to.

Question: Can the naked (albeit trained) eye (PGA-certified pro) identify enough shaft deflection from watching 8 swings that he is rightfully recommending moving me from stiff to an X in my driver? All my studio fittings have always put me in stiff, but I suppose my swing has changed enough in the last couple months that it is possible I need to reconsider stiff.

Short answer - IMO, yes. To make a specific shaft recommendation, *maybe* not?

I used to always play heavier stiff flex shafts in my drivers just because my "swing speed wasnt high enough" - based on some swing speed charts and/or older lesson advice. But at a lesson 6 or 7 years ago, the woman said, you know, these kinds of shafts dont match your swing tempo at all. Went to lightweight X flex shafts and have never been happier. I think I was always so scared of hitting an "X flex" in my driver because I pictured it as something that only long drive or tour guys would play.

Cant hurt to try it though.
