MP-18mb or 718mb. Help me choose

Looking to get one of these. Like the looks better of Titleist, but finish better of Mizuno. Feel is good on both. Which would you choose and why? Thanks WRX for making me a club ho.

Titleist look great but feel like clicky garbage. It’s mp 18 all day and it’s not even close. I’d sooner look at apex or p 730 before 718

The correct answer is Apex MBs :taunt: Well of the two, MP18 wasn't the normal great Mizzy feel and finish. I'd pick the 718CB over the MB though as it felt solid and produced consistent yardages.

Titleist for me, Mizuno is a bit too chunky for a MB in my opinion

Now this is a post I will never understand. And I haven't played anything other than Titleist and Mizuno irons since I put my Tommy Armour 845 Silver Scot's in the closet. I understand that everybody has a different eye. But MP-18's chunky??? I want what you're on

MP-18s for me. When I got mine I preferred the look of the apex MB’s over both of Titleist and Mizuno, but from a performance/feel perspective it was mp-18 all the way.

Funny how “looks” change over time though. When I look at those three sets now, the mp-18s look far better to me than anything else out there. Amazing what time/familiarity/performance does to looks...

I'm not sure there is enough real difference between those two choices to matter if you're going to play a muscleback to your first hybrid or fairway wood.

I actually prefer the overall feel of Titleist as a general rule - to include how quickly the sensation goes from 'wow' with a nutted shot through 'yuck' to 'bullsh!t' as the misses get bigger. Having said that, I did substantial comparison this Spring and for the first time in many models preferred the MP-18 feel. Also, to the extent their is any forgiveness in a muscleback design, I believe the MP-18 is a wee bit more generous.

Having said that, if you are going to start adding a cavity in the mid/long irons, I'd rate the Titleist 718 CB as substantially better than either the MP-18 SC or MP-18MMC and the T-MB much better than the MMC Fli-Hi.

718's are much more traditional blades, Mizuno's play and look like "GI blades" with their longer face and slightly thicker top line.

I like putting down a small blade behind the ball, the sweet spot is directly behind the ball, with the bigger irons there seems to be a large hitting area and I struggle to focus on my position behind the ball.

Smaller irons or what I am more accustomed to I place down and instantly I am ready to go, so they give me a lot more confidence .

Its such a personal game and we all have different tastes, what works for me will not work for everyone.

That’s the rationale of Miura baby blades that they’re actually more forgiving because there’s so much less club to hit. Makes sense to me

1000% Agreed. And I get that the Titleists have a little thinner topline. It's just that 'chunky' didn't cross my mind when I picked up MP-18

I didn't get on with the MP-18s when I tried them earlier in the year - wasn't a fan of the feel and struggled to keep the blade square through impact - lovely irons, but not for me. Admittedly I didn't get a chance to try them with my usual shaft, but as good as the S400 is, that extra 3g isn't going to radically alter the feel of the club. The place I tried them at also stocked Vega and I tried the VM-01 - they were much more like it - still buttery smooth but with a solidity that was lacking in the Mizunos.

I didn't try the 718s,but I did demo the 716 MB and really liked them, and on that basis I'd probably go with the Titleist.
