After I make ten swings I don’t even see the top of the crown anymore. I’ve played the turbulotors for a while guess I’m used to it.

I disagree. The turbulators are very pronounced vs the f9 crown. I can however see people equally liking the f9 and the g410 . I like the 410 crown but I absolutely hate the 400 crown with the dragonfly.

Some pics in the wild from my first round with it!

https://www.instagra.../p/BsgcGbbAz2B/

Played a course Ive never played today so hard to judge distances but its was very solid, accurate and forgiving. Feel was awesome and sound was more muted than I would like. I do like a little crack but nothing loud or tin can-ish. I wasn't overwhelmed but also not underwhelmed either. True test will be Sunday at a course I am very familiar with.

So update:

2nd round complete on a course I know well and a very tight course Balboa GC in San Diego, CA. After my first round, I just felt something was off with the atmos shaft for me. Felt a bit spinny for me and didn't love the ball flight. I went on a whim and asked the store to swap out the Atmos TS Blue for a HZRDUS Smoke 6.0 60g. For me this combo was magic! The head came alive sound and feel where before if felt a little too muted. Ball flight was nice but a more penetrating trajectory. I really felt I could go after it and it maintained tight dispersion. I hit this combo longer for me and found a bunch of fairways. I know it was longer because of my usual playing partners. I mean were talking 5-10 yards which I am happy for but what I was really impressed with was the control and dispersion of the smoke / f9 combo. More testing next week but very excited to have this combo in the bag.

MTex, what degree head are you playing and where are the weights?

10.5 degree with heavy weight up front. I swing like 95mph-100mph and I get plenty of height and can turn it over just fine. I don't have that much swing speed but my tempo is fast so maybe thats why it works.

Right on! Was just curious where others are playing the weights etc.

Thx MTex! I just ordered mine with the Atmos Blue and my speed and tempo are similar to yours so I may have to call DD and order the smoke shaft and see which one wins out.

Shafts are crazy though. I played the fly z+ for a while and hit it great and played the stock regular shaft and it worked great for me.

Will probably end up with this driver (in the black and white).

Will order it in Hzrdus Smoke 6.5 but also have a couple of other shafts (Hzrdus Red 65 6.5 and Tour AD TP 6x) that I can also use. Hzrdus Red has been excellent in my M4.

I don’t really need to change drivers but always find it hard at this time of the year.

awesome reviews. I will get one! wondering if 10.5 played at 9.5 or 9.0 played at 9.5 is better. Finally a replacement for my LTD Pro.

Nice sounding thwack. Summertime in Australia. I’m quite jealous you’re in shorts down there.

It’s A cozy 34* F here today and 5 inches of snow on the ground.

It’ll be like that soon enough here. We’re lucky in Canberra that we get the heat (three days over 40*c (105*f) coming this week) and we get snow in Winter.

Had a round with it today.

Took a couple of hits to get used to it, but was consistently around 290 yards (I usually average about 280), including one I absolutely smoked that went 350.

Felt great, had good control. Played the Atmos tour spec 75 stiff.

70 yard gain? I’m going to buy 5!

You should, results garrynteed*

Based on that bone fide endorsement I am now buying 10!

10 x 70 = 700. if you play all the drivers at once, you will have to build your own courses.

That’s great that you piped on out there 350, but I don’t know if I want a driver that I average 290 with but occasionally smack one 60 yards further. If I’m expecting 290 but there is trouble at like 320 and I hit one of those 350 drives, it’s getting sent back Consistency is just as important as distance.

Great words. Balboa is an absolute b**** of a course and is very undercredited in San Diego. Very challenging and tight, I must say.

Great review on the F9. The more I read about it, the more I desire it. I don’t know if I want to stick with the smoke or go with the black shaft in 6.5. I was getting still a little bit too much spin even with the weight forward. I do, however, want to try and EF white in one which wasn’t available at my golf store. I like that shaft in the TS2 and played on on a 400 max that I borrowed for a few holes.

Decisions.

Playing mine 2 inches short I need to add 16 grams to play it D-3 and 43.5”. 8 grams per inch.

That’s a lot of weight to play around with.

I’m going with the 18 gram weight in front instead of the 14, leave the standard 2 in the back, and then add the other 12 grams in lead tape low and forward in the heel area to give it just a hint of draw bias and hopefully shave a couple hundred more RPMs off with all that extra weight low and forward.

I really mentioned this to highlight the distance possibilities. The hole is slightly downhill, and because of the length of the hole and wide open fairway, I went for broke and managed to connect well - my swing speed is usually about 110-115 and quite controlled because I can get very wayward when I try and up the speed. The average distances are pretty consistent for my normal swing.
