The front of the top where the ridges are is matte. The rear is not. I don’t like it at all. They should of made it all matte.

It reminds me of the taylormade heads from the last few years. The white area behind the face and then the black carbon behind that. It’s obviously not that severe a difference since it’s all black, but that’s what it reminds me of.

Someone ought to buy one and media blast the whole thing matte and post pictures of it.

Frigging best looking driver in 2019 with the ST190 a close second. Well done Cobra and Mizzuno. Cobra recent reviews are killing it.

Subjective I guess. But, I'm not finding the shape all that pleasing. Would prefer a little more compact design myself. Other than the shape, I think it looks pretty mean. Even the yellow on the sole is starting to be look better than the white to me.

Because of the shape, I'm out. But, I do hope they sell truck loads of them.

Yes. I was referring just to the white.

Anyone find it weird that you can’t order the “Tour length” club in a 9 degree Head?

I was about to order one and there is no loft choice for the Tour length. It looks like you have to order a “regular” driver and then make it a custom order at -1” to get it the 9 degree head at an inch short of standard. Weird. I have to imagine that use they heavier weights to get the swingweight back up but I’d like to clarify that somewhere. There dosent seem to be a “notes” section on the order form to tell them that.

It’s not even close. The Mizzy is beautiful. The F9 is hideous in comparison.

Yes I meant I have the st190 as best looking of all new drivers this year. I don’t find the white f9 hideous though as I just purchased one yesterday. The front portion would look much better if 1: it was gloss or 2: those strips werent gloss and actually matched the current finish.

Surprised so many are talking about the bottom of the drivers for appearance. White yellow black? What's the difference? The St190G is ugly as he'll on the bottom imo with those dual train tracks but is sublime at address from the photos I've viewed from top view. Maybe I'm missing something here and people are referring to the 2 spines on top or the wings . Is it the bottom of the club that some are having issues with? Really doesn't matter but I don't follow some of the statements clearly. On a positive note it seems to have the fastest ball speeds of any modern driver .F9 may become a legend in 2019 but we will see.

Go look in the Epic Flash thread if you want to see the bottom of a club picked apart.

In regards to ball speeds. I may have missed some reviews, but where was it shown to produce the fastest ball speeds? Rick Shiels gained 1mph over the flash with it, but also swung 1mph faster. Is it producing higher smash factor for anyone else?

that was the point of the new design and aero package. SS going up by 1-2 mph more by design than comparable heads (F7,F8, etc) thus increasing ball speeds 2-4 mph . Can't comment on smash as I attribute that more to the golfer than the head. If I can get a little more speed from this vs my F8+ I'd be enticed to upgrade even though its been a great club. We'll see what we individuals find out when testing but so far on the 2 you tube reviews its at the top of the charts. I love the looks too.

I’m the exact opposite, I love the yellow and the head shape and the design. I have mine at +1 and it still sets up darn near open. At least as open as my TS3.

I hit both of them within a hour. Numbers were about the same. The F9 felt softer I guess probably cause of the milled face. The TS3 felt like the ball jumped off better. But like I said numbers were about the same. Comes down to personal preference and whether you want to save a couple bucks with the Cobra. I’m in the market for a new driver. Right now the Cobra is in the lead. Waiting to try the new Callaway’s and TM’s. Sorry, probably not much help. Have to try them for yourself.

Wish I could report! I’m in frozen Cleveland and just picked up the F9 Thursday. Tell you this, the Cobra sure sets up nice. The competition with be as follows...

1.) 10.5 TS3, 44.75’ D4, PX Handcrafted Red 5.5

2.) 10.5 F9, 44.5’, D5, Fuji TS Blue reg flex

Both drivers set to +1 loft and darn near the exact specs. At my 49yr old smooth, flat, low spin 105mph SS I bet they aren’t off each other by more than peanuts. It will all come down to feel and confidence for me. My game with the driver is a high, piercing trajectory. Drives my high spin, high speed friends nuts that I can still get roll out.

So adding loft via my fly should close the face a touch, correct?

BB you’re saying that you have a 10.5 set to 11.5 and it doesn’t seem to sit closed?

I’m contemplating getting a 9 and lofting up to 10, but am worried that it will sit closed.

Spent some time today with the F9, Atmos blue reg and enjoyed it more than my F7. If this is the real deal shaft I will upgrade even though I am not a consistent driver. SS and BS were faster, but I like the feel better than the numbers - great sound, incredibly smooth but super stable.

I did not see or feel the same with the irons, though not apples to apples. I have the F7 One's with diff shafts but distance and ball speed was basically the equal.

Ordered the Tour Length F9 and contacted customer service to ask for a 9 degree head. Was told it can’t be done (no clue why). Canceled and ordered a 9 degree head -.25”.

Like I said in the earlier post, loft for some reason is not an option with the “Tour length” club. Very strange. But you CAN custom order a “regular club” at 9* and -1 inch.

Truly odd. I guess the “Tour length” is just in their computer a specific way and that’s with the 10.5 head.

I'm assuming if you called and asked for the 9* @ 44.5" or -1.0", and asked for them to configure the weights like the tour length setup, they would at no charge!

Yes - suppose I could. But figured I’ve always played a 45”ish driver. Intention is to pop the head into my current shaft and call it a day, but figured I could test out the Smoke 75X. Didn’t want to shorten too much as to affect SW and didn’t get around to ordering weights yet.
