Yes! Putters - Educate Me

Looking for the story and quality insights on Yes! putters.

Not sure what you know and what you don't, but Yes! was a pretty prominent company in the early 2000's. The C-Groove technology was their claim to fame, and I knew a number of players, including my brother, who swore by it.

 

Having used his Yes! a few times (Marilyn model) it does roll the ball nicely and is certainly well made. It does seem like the C-Grooves take a little bit of getting used to, and switching from a Yes! model to an alternate OEM can take some adjustment.

 

That being said, they are generally considered to be pretty high quality putters. If you can find a used (or old stock) one that you like, I would suggest giving it a roll!

The grooves were intended to get the ball rolling quicker and prevent skidding. They obviously look different than other putters, and have a slightly different feel to them.

 

My only question is why look at Yes!? They have been out of business for a number of years. Lots of great options out there these days. Both Cleveland Golf and Wilson Staff have some excellent putter lines at very reasonable prices.

Absolutely agree. The feel is a little different with Yes!?, but so many options out there nowadays. Why use a putter that stopped production years ago and pass on a solid Cleveland, Rife (very affordable now with groove technology that puts a good roll on the ball), Ping putters used/unused and you can find plenty of Oddysey putters used with microhinge technology that are very inexpensive? If she's a beginner, you might even have her take a look at SeeMore to promote consistent setup and overall consistency in her stroke (Odyssey Red Ball as well).

I game a Wilson infinite and am familiar with the Cleveland HB/classic series. I was looking for a Cleveland on eBay and came across a Yes! putter and was curious. Her only requirement was a mid mallet shape and the Penny has that.

 

The fact that the company no longer exists doesn't worry me as long as the product wasn't inferior. I can't imagine needing support on a $30 putter.

I had a yes! Tracy 2 blade. Was a great putter for the money. Ended up putting a super stroke on it and giving it to my dad. He still using it today.

I still have two Olivia mallets, cut at various lengths. They got knocked out of the bag by a Ping mallet, but the Olivia putters made me a pile of money over the years. They are still there in reserve if I need them. I bought one originally for over a $150 years ago, and a couple of years ago bought a back-up for $30 off Ebay. Excellent putters.

Why pay $120.00 for a putter when you can Pay $40?!?!?! There is no expiration date on a putter! Your post comes across kind of like a club snob....I inquired about a YES putter on here a couple months back and got great reviews and feedback as well, I haven't found the model I'm looking for yet and i'm in wisconsin so i'm in no hurry to find one right away but I will get a YES putter before the spring. Expanding someone's collection at value is what its all about in my book. Recently got a Tommy Armour blade putter for $15.00... always wanted one and cannot beat the value! to many club collectors and equipment nerds, its not all about the latest and greatest. There are a lot of clubs I wanted back in the day that I simply couldn't afford and now can be attained pretty cheap....

Yes putters are awesome. The tech works in my opinion and get the ball rolling quick. The quality of the tour putters is second to none. Have a Callie Tour in my stash that I won’t ever sell.

It was not taken poorly on my end. It is legitimate and I very well could have been as uniformed on some of the better value options out there as I was about Yes!.

I was hoping they would bring back Yes! as their high-end line to compete with Toulon and Scotty.

I had at least two Yes! putters - a Tracy and another ..

 

The bottom line is that the face milling caused the ball to go back to your line on off-center hits but distance suffered - and the feel on off-center hits was not good - you knew it.

 

I think the Evnroll is more of an advance in face milled tech - distance does not suffer and off-center hits go more on-line towards hole.

I have a Yes Stephanie long putter. Hated it, decided to cut it down. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. Its lights out at 35". Put a Rosemark thorn 1.52 grip on it & now my Scotty Camerons sit in the closet collecting dust.

I've had a lot of Yes putters over the years. A few of my favourites were the Donna, Tracy F, Tracy 2 and Courtney. For me their best quality putters were the Tour putters, I really enjoyed the feel and roll of the Jenny Tour, Tracy Tour and Pippi Tour, top notch.

My opinion & i have a Callie Custom & Dawn Tour. By far the Dawn is the best model of the Yes series ever made my Dawn is setting in my basement that i won (2) club championships with i should use it but i don't.
