7/8 now on the 3 iron. So a month after I was told yesterday by the rep. Taylormade is full on lying at this point.

Those saying these irons feel hard/harsh, is this with the DG x100 shaft?

The x100 shaft is not what one would call a soft feeling shaft! Try some sensicore, etc down the butt of the shaft to help with that hard/harsh feeling or a different shaft.

And doesn’t seem like anybody here is going to hit these outside to let us know how anything but the 7 iron performs.

I wish I had mine to give you some feedback. I’ve been in modus 130’s for the past 2 yrs and could give feedback on these with x1’s. Looking for a modus replacement due to some bent and sheared shafts

I'll be playing mine on Friday. Currently playing Titleist 714 so can compare them with those if that helps.

The B/O report changes daily due to production and builds. The dates I listed are projected dates which mean worse case delay times. Sometimes the stock is replenished quicker than the date shown on the list. Hope this helps clarify for you. No one is lying to you, they might not have had the current info.

Big reason why I cancelled my order, at best 6-14 but not guaranteed. I could only imagine how I’d be if they said another 25-30 days after pushing them back 45.

The packing and open box experience is pretty good. Only thing I don’t like about it is they wrapped some heads but not all. I’d rather they don’t put any wrap on any club because isn’t that what the whole box is for ? To protect the heads . Anyways, here’s my photos.

But. I had a shop owner call the rep on speaker phone yesterday, and 6/13 was the worst case date. And it still maybe for my set. A set that was ordered 4/8. Now you throw another month on that.

 

Sure. Someone may not have accurate info. But. At what point is it lying when nobody has accurate info ? But I partly agree. The guys now aren’t really lying. The lie was told up front when we ordered. Nobody said 4 month wait on day 1.

We will see about that, that's just what some TM employee said. He isn't currently playing the forged in China irons that are going for retail and he didn't win the Masters with those. Ultimately, when Tiger wants a new set all he has to do it say the word to give him exact copy and they will. Highly doubt they are getting a china forged head and bending it for him for a replacement.

No doubt about that. They said themselves that it’s different material. Wedges are different ( no hosel plug)

Was raining here yesterday, so I couldn't hit them when I picked them up. I'm taking them out to practice tonight after work, but my range is still hitting off mats. I won't be able to get them on turf until Thursday after work when I play nine.

I'm trying to find the right range to take these to. My local range is super sandy so that's a no go. I'll report back on the feel of these with s400's. I currently play CB-57's with Modus 130's FWIW and consider myself a pretty good ball striker.

You've had issues with Nippon Shafts and there quality control? I play 130's also. First I've heard of this about Nippon.

So I called the Amazon retailer and they DO NOT have them in stock. He said they are drop shipped and that he will place the order with TM when someone purchases them. He was not aware of the backorder status either.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I had gone off the “ ready to ship” wording on the ad. Sooo glad I didn’t buy those then. I’d have gone postal if a 3rd set fell through.

Not to get too far off topic, yes I have. My p730’s and before that z945’s both had modus 130’s and I’ve bent 3 shafts between the two sets and my 6i tip broke from a shot in the middle of the fairway 2 weeks ago and the head went flying. Tip all jagged and partially still in the hosel. I thought these p7tw would be here so I threw a Ctaper i had lying around in the 6

feel your pain man. i'm actually gonna reshaft/regrip my mizzys in the meantime aka to hold me over for 3 months. I may enjoy the new gear quite a bit as i haven't been fitted in over 10 years...potentially just drop these on the bay untouched at that point with standard specs
