I personally hadn’t but the clubfitter made sure they were good before I picked them up

My set was the tightest build I've ever received from an OEM. Most SW were on spec and the two that were off were light by only 0.25 points. Lengths, lofts, and lies were all spot on.

Just finished up a fitting at club champion. Clear winner was the P7TW with steelfiber 125, second was the cobra MB. My question is how good is TM at SW. I was shocked to see d7 is what I need. Anyone know if TM can get the weight to d7 or am I stuck paying CC insane price? I don’t want to put tape on my irons if possible.

I did not order TM irons as they will not do requested swing weight. I was shocked when I first heard that.

 

Mizuno got mine perfect the second time around!

Unfortunately, TM does not swing weight any clubs, totally stinks.

Thanks for the replies. Well they worked with me on their price so I moved forward and purchased them. Plus they have them in stock and I’ll get them in less than 10 days. Going to have to suck up my pride going to steelfibers but they did feel so smooth. I really wanted the blueprints to match my woods but for me the p7tw were a longer and more consistent.

How can they not...they give us the option of Tigers specks of D4 or standard at D3? That's stupid of them if that's the only two options of SW we get.

TM has never customized SW on any of their offerings. Sad but true..

I played a few rounds with mine and I've come to realize I really need a different shaft in them. The S400's are to heavy for me and I generally play Modus 120 in stiff. I put my Epon's back into play and had a pretty good iron play round with them back in the bag but I dont think it would have been any worse with the TW's. I put the TW's up for sale and have had some interest but I am having a hard time really wanting to let them go. I think I may find another set of modus 120's and just hang onto the set, seems like a waste to only play the 5-pw but they are just fantastic heads.

That’s what I want them in. Just 5-pw. Really wish TM would add that offering....

Hit them, They are a good set of irons, perform as expected... And aesthetically pleasing. But in my opinion, they are not worth $2,000. My Bridgestone J-15 MB and CBs feel much better, as do my old Mizuno 69/53 combo. Endo forging blows away the TM irons in softness, and the Mizzy have that "solid" feel but without the harder feel of the P7-TW. These are similar to Titleist MBs in the feel dept.

 

When you couple the logistical nightmare on getting a set delivered to you intact, with a chance of just having a 3-iron delivered to your door, in addition to the harder feel of these, I think that if you are going to be spending this type of coin I'd look at National Customs, Muira or Artisan (when they start taking iron orders).

 

I'll be sticking with my J15MB/CB combo and saving $2k. ?

I'm not sure if I'm the only one here who feels this way, but the TWs have actually done well for my swing and game, placebo or not.

 

I've found more GIRs with these than any other irons, I haven't lost any distance, even on mishits. Ball flight is towering yet I don't lose any more distance with the TWs than any of my other blade irons. My approach shots hold the greens well, more so than any of my other irons.

 

I say this based on actual on-course findings, not off Trackman. I shoot lower scores on average with these than any other blade irons I've gamed in the last 2 years (which includes Titleist 690, Miura MC501, Srixon Pro 100).

Don’t doubt it. Most ams could benefit from more spin and a narrow sole. But they all chase low spin more carry , wide soled launcher type irons.

My switch to Steelfibers ws he best decision I've made, golf-wise, in the last 2 years. Smmoth, stable, and no more elbow pain.

Good to hear, I’m excited to get them out on the course next week. Do you also play them in your wedges? If so did you change shafts. I went with the 125 constant weight.

I’ve always played x flex but went with stiff for the same reason you mentioned. I don’t get out as much as I use to so when I do I try to play 36 so it is nice swinging smooth vs hard.

Clean looking blades but I like the looks of the TW and BPs better. I’d like to give these a whirl though.

I found the first set at a local shop and got them on May 1 or thereabouts. Found this second set at another shop and drove about 160 miles round trip to pick them up. the s*** we do for clubs. lol
