I'm actually more bothered by guys who take a piss break somewhere in the woods instead of waiting for a bathroom since there's no way to wash your hands after the deed is done

 

I’m guessing your under 50 and your prostate isn’t the size of a softball. Not saying I regularly use the bushes but I understand why some do. And you’re assuming people wash their hands after using a bathroom. Most don’t.

 

Years ago, I was able to shoot acorns off the next tree, now I'm happy to get it past my shoes...

Some of my best golf buddies are rabid smokers.

 

They're grown men, they know the dangers, and like most addicts, refuse to acknowledge them.

 

Most of them have tried to quit several times. With each attempt, I tell them 1 year smoke free gets them $100 bill from me. Unfortunately, I've not paid one yet, and they know I gladly would.

 

As a former (30 year) smoker, any incidental fumes don't bother me. And I've not met a smoker yet who intentionally blows smoke into anyone's face.

 

Cancer sucks. I wouldn't "hope" it on anyone. Ever.

I've had cancer, unrelated to smoking, and that's nothing you should wish on anyone. Shame on you.

Exactly. ( minus the “ I hope you die “ part lol ). Smokers don’t get this. If you can smell it it’s too close. I don’t mind a cigar. But I detest cigarette smoke. To the point that it makes me angry. In 2 seconds it gets on your clothes and you cannot get away from it without a shower and washing your clothes. It’s in the same or worse league as someone with bad BO or constant gas in the cart with you.

I grew up in the 70's and 80's, we used to smoke lots of weed. Almost everyone did. Somewhere in my early 20's I put down the bong.

 

This past summer on a golf trip, we were all hanging out on the beach under the moonlight and my 64 year old buddy taps my shoulder and says "ere", I turn and he hands me a joint.

 

A JOINT!!!! :rofl:

 

After the briefest of pauses, I figured, why not.... After just 3 hits I was feeling fine!

 

20 minutes later I was destroying a bag of Doritos!

 

My, how the quality of the product has changed.

I smoked for 25 years but quit 3 years ago, i actually vape now and i vape while im on the course, and no, other people smoking on the course wouldnt bother me, as long as they don't just throw the butts on the floor, i used to hate that even when i smoked.

Do you have one of those annoying vapes that makes a darth vader noise every time you hit it? That noise is the only thing that bothers me out on the course, probably because the guys I play with can't seem to stop doing it while we're all on the tee and i'm trying to tee off.

My only issues are:

 

1) The course is not your ashtray, trash can, spittoon (don’t spit on the green).

 

2) Don’t drive a cart or your car while impaired.

 

3) Be considerate of those persons with breathing disorders and make efforts to keep your smoke away from them.

Oversize drivers are illegal. They really bother me too and I don't want to be associated with them.
