I've been pretty impressed with the results I've been getting from the 818 H2 I recently picked up. Bought it to fill a gap around 225 between my 3 wood and 4 iron, and I think I'm going to have to add loft to it, as it is getting too close to my 3 wood for comfort.

I have a TEE Ex 10 that is an absolute canon. Only thing close was the old Adams titanium mentioned above. TEE seems to be much more accurate.

Check out g410, hit the 3 hybrid. Was long, easy to hit. Didnt mess with shafts or settings.

A fairway wood if u are looking for distance. If u are looking to fill a certain gap there are a bunch of hybrids to try. Doesnt really matter which one you hit the farthest unless u carry a driver and then the 3hybrid is the next longest club in your bag !

For me they are all pretty close, 19* hybrid is 190ish in the air and then roll. If i want something longer i have to go 17* and longer overall playing lenght in shaft.

 

That said longest hybrid for me was adams 17* LS @ 41.5" and taylormade SLDR 17* @ 41.75" stock lenght. Wow rocket actually too long.

 

Right now i have the M3 17* @ 41" for 205 carry and a little roll anything beyond that get to close to my 3 wood carry from the fairway of 210 to 215 carry vs the occasional 235 carry from the tee plus a little roll.

 

My game improvement EPIC 4 iron covers the 185 to 190 better than a hybrid for that distance and it DOESNT BALLOON AT ALL but it does hook sometimes so i cant win it all lolol.

For me any Callaway Hybrid made in the past few years are absolute bombers! I've had the Apex, XHot and also the Razr hybrids. Almost too long to a fault. Sometimes I would catch some low spinners and they would absolutely just fly! Not ideal when trying to hit a specific number going into a Par 5.

I don't use any fairway woods. I replaced them with a 2H Adams pro at 16* and just bought a Mizuno JPX 850 3H at 19*. I can hit that 2 hybrid as far as my old fairway wood.

With my reduced swing speed, my G400 2 Hybrid is nearly as long as my XR Pro 4 wood (most of the time) and it's easier to launch. The best part about the club is the way it sits at address (dead square) along with the sound and feel. As a result, I'm looking for a 3 wood that I can get up in the air.

Tried them all. Longest and sweetest hybrid are the Adams black super hybrid 19 degree and the Taylormade gape hi 19 degree.

Agreed. Love mine, and now have both the 3 and 4. Both turned down 1 degree.

I still have one of these and have found nothing to kick it out of the bag. I've tried all the Titleist, Ping, Calloway and Taylor Made offerings over last 5+ years and nothing works like this thing......

Also on my third 3-wood of these. The tungsten weight keeps flying out of the bottom and I keep having to look into the used marketplace. I've yet to also find a 3-wood that flys like this thing.

The H85 is the longest hands down out of all the latest hybrids for me as well. And with all of our demos in stock, and with our fitting days, the vast majority of my customers are having the same results. I have a 2 and a 4 hybrid, and I hardly ever bag the 2, as it’s longer than my 3 wood, and on all but the best strikes, essentially equal to my driver. The Srixons are scary long....often feeling like they HAVE to be pushing some legal/USGA boundaries.

I don't think the answer will be the same for any particular person as it is for a group of others. In any case isn't it only important what the longest or most accurate 3 hybrid is that can be played reliably by someone is? If I can't hit a club with consistency, regardless of how good it may be otherwise... I will not put it in my bag. Sadly, if I followed that rule to the letter, some days that would probably mean staring at an empty bag :)

Not true. My two iron utility goes farther than any 5 wood. A 5 wood goes too high, over spins with a wider shot dispersion pattern.

 

I also find it more accurate to “roll” the ball than to “place” it from the sky from off the tee.

This...took advice from this thread, IIRC and picked a jpx900 during my early season hybrid testing. I've got mine set 2 degrees week (21) and it still flies farther than some of the hybrids I tested at 19.
