At best it would be the sixth best course in the Charleston Area. It would not make the top 20 in all of South Carolina.

I know it's still early but if nobody else steps up I'm sure Gerina will be glad to take the victory. Anyone else think that top of the leaderboard after today's round will be -3 or -4 at best. Seems like a lot of players who were in good form leading up to this tournament are struggling and others like Gerina who had little or no momentum are looking good.

Anyone see the morning/afternoon scoring splits from Round 1? And if the weather/wind is supposed to be any different today?

 

Of the ~40 people at even or better, ~3/4 of them tee off this afternoon (I guess there are some people that were E yesterday afternoon and over par this morning so the figures just mentioned may not be as skewed).

 

Still a long way to go. But for the Koreans I definitely agree with the comments about this (a win) being a game changer for Sei Young Kim. I guess the same for Lucky6 (next wave has officially arrived and continued success in this tournament by this country's players).

They mentioned at one point yesterday afternoon that the PM wave was averaging 2 1/2 strokes more than the morning wave. That's a heck of a gap.

 

The winds this afternoon are supposed to pick up a bit, but nothing drastic, i.e. 8 mph vs. 12 mph. The temperature is actually supposed to drop a few degrees. The biggest question mark is the chance of t-storms at 2 pm.

I feel bad for Reagan Zibilski.. I think she's only 14, but this could burst her bubble for future (mentally) .. She wasn't ready..

She shot 89 on first round.. Looks to be another similar 2nd round..

Lucky 6 bogeying the par 5 9th and 15th. Giving up shots to the field.

 

Azahara's putter is on fire. At one point she was +4 on her round, but then her putter gets red hot and she birdies four of her next 7 holes.

Hope Na Yeon Choi is OK; she's +9 today after bogeying her last 6 holes in a row.

Her body has been an issue the last 2-3 years; hope something isn't relapsing!

She shot the same score as In Gee Chun yesterday; there's a danger In Gee may similarly blow up this afternoon.

I saw Gina, Dylan Kim and Yealimi Noh in the final pairing in the final rd last year at the Cdn Women's Am.

I'm happy that Gina and Duke won last year, but also disappointed Dylan & Fassi and Arkansas didn't fair better on home soil.

 

Noh was offered a scholarship to a D1 school (likely many offers) but turned pro...from what I saw....I think Noh's game was a touch loose and could have used some refining at a D1 school for a couple/few years before a consideration to turn pro....she did get a Hana Bank endorsement...but I highly doubt it's lucrative.

 

I also spoke with a local gal and her mom....the gal has game....could easily get a D1 scholarship....but not going to apply...she's going to play some Am golf and then turn pro....SMH.

SV was 2 weekends ago...1 lost ball in 53 holes. Think last weekend was 53 lost balls in 18 holes.

Finally, some decent players are rounding into form. It was a mistake not to attend this year's tournament. What a great course. CordeValle seems like a long time ago.

There isn't much difference in the rough between a regular LPGA event and this one. Not much of a penalty for missing a fairway.
