Thank you for the tip on notification. I email LAB and they let me know that the Red color was upgraded and changed in 22 to a brighter red so yes this is a different Red than the older ones.

To answer the question of stock shaft or Accra on new DF2.1's, I had both in hand back to back and the sound and feel is slightly different but I have to say one is not better than the other, just different. When it comes to looks the metal stepped shaft looks inexpensive compared to the Accra so I think you are getting something that is quantifiable for the $100. If you length/lie fits in stock size save the money, I went custom and felt the $100 accra upgrade was worth it.

My DF is still secure in my bag. It’s not a beautiful putter 😁 and the pizza box headcover does make me chuckle, but I just make putts with it. No thumbs, and grip pressure so light I’m barely not dropping the stick. 

 

The OG Press rubber grip is heavy, rock hard, and totally perfect for someone like me who does not like the Winn style of softer, tacky grips. It’s awesome. 
 

Context:  putting is all I can do with both arms. Any other shot is R arm only, and obviously my ball striking is a shadow of what it once was. But — I putt better than I ever have, 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 and really rely on being able to make putts. Not like every player doesn’t rely on getting the ball in the hole, but it is a strength for me now and I think it will stay that way.

Here is a pic of the DF in my bag. It is not small hahaha. I do have a smaller bag (hoofer lite) and quite a few headcovers.

It was included with my DF that I purchased from lab golf outlet. It is by made by EP (I think they make the covers

for bettinardi and the buck club). I have seen the black on black, white on black and Stars and Stripes. Not sure what else may be out there.

I just started using an Armlock Mezz Max with the Jumbomax 17” grip. I was thinking of switching to the 21” grip. Anyone make that change or have both grips? Any difference in putter feel?

I’m having a heck of a time deciding whether to go arm lock or broom. I’ve done broom before and absolutely loved it, but I anchored it just at my sternum. I tooled around with an arm lock at a golf store last year but I wasn’t really in love with the feel. How’s the broom guys doing it without anchoring it? I assume it cannot touch any part of the body. I’ll prob order a broom soon once my fitting comes back from LAB.

Well my 2cents, and since I've never tried it I may be totally off. 

 

But to me the Broomstick method still involves the hands. Which introduces the possibility for error just like the conventional method. Only that the hands are further apart.

 

With the Armlock method the Putter handle is locked against the lead arm. The hands are just along for the ride.

After trying nearly a dozen second hand DF2.1’s and Mezz’s I finally bit the bullet and ordered a custom DF in my specs. Things was sick, blue head, white Accra shaft alignment line all the way back. Got it in last Friday and took it on a golf trip to Florida. Second round in my buddy accidentally ran over it with the cart….. LAB said they’ll reshaft for $200 IF they can get the current one out….

I am sorry for your loss, can you explain how in the world that your club was on the ground to be run over? Did you friend get so frustrated that you were putting so well that he had to kill your putter?

So kind of my fault….. they were putting out and I had to take a leak. Ran over to the side to kiss and put the putter laying up against the front of the cart. He had to walk right past it to get to his bag. It’s bright and white and 36.5”, guess he just didn’t notice it though. I turned just as he was pulling up at first it just fell and the cart cleared it but the back axle caught the back of the head and bent it forward.

Damn. That really sucks….I’ll remember to never lean a club against the cart, bad habit I have. 🙁

Picked up a Mezz.1 and man these things are good. I had my doubts on the claims and concerns with the looks initially but it just rolls so pure. I don’t have the press grip, just an oversized Lamkin and I just love it. I feel I get a better look also putting with the ball off my front foot with a forward press. And the looks are no problem. Just looks like a center shaft fang putter. So glad I picked one up.

I think the issue was that certain fertilizers would stain or mess with that color in some way.

I too broke my DF2.1 by stepping on the shaft in the back of my truck at night back in the fall. It was laying beside my golf bag and not in it (oops) as I had been practicing that week with it and i was changing a taillight and stepped right where the BGT shafts meets the steel shaft.  Expensive fix.

I have the American flag one (the one you have shown, not the new one on their site). But both mine came with the “tour” version from their site.  I have the white one and the black one.  Are you interested in parting with the black on black?

Great input and exactly what I would have said… and I use the Broom. Don’t get me wrong, I love mine and cannot see a reason to EVER change, but the Armlock has the word “lock” in it. Less moving parts and less prone to tinker with your setup. Lock it on the forearm and rock the shoulders. 
 

I do not anchor the broom of course, just hold the top grip about an inch away from chest and keep in centered. I do not pendulum, I rock my shoulders. Putting has been my strong suit ever since.
