Sam @labgolf Thanks for all your activity on the forum. I listened to your whole podcast and really enjoyed it. https://backtracks.fm/discover/s/figuring-it-out-a-golf-podcast/4b5d4da7eb150145 You talked a little about shafts and  you said "...I use the Accra most of the time...". Your website talks about all of the upgrade shafts but it is kind of politically correct in the descriptions saying nice things about each. Question, it sounds like you spent extra time and had changes or detailed input into the "Engineered for L.A.B. by ACCRA" can you provide some details or story? Did you work with them and make changes from their stock versions so it works better on the 2.1?  Thanks, just geeking out on your tech but the results gaming a 2.1 have been amazing change for me.

Noticed on my carpet today every thing I was putting was being pushed. I got out my mirror to check alignment and that was not the issue. Tried thumbs off drill and the various ball drills and still pushed. When i feel like the face is closed a tick it was ok. @labgolf, do you have any suggestions? Could this be me still adjusting to the lie (I was fit for 70* and have one at 69*) or could it be something with the alignment on the head?

Do you have the ball far enough forward in your stance? Every time I struggle with alignment or direction, it’s because the ball has crept back in my stance a bit.

I can try further. It’s almost to the start of my big toe. Shaft centered in stance. Thanks

That’s it. Your ball position is too far back. Feels weird having to so far forward, but that is what it requires with a LAB putter. I think Sam talks about it in several LAB YouTube videos.

Originally bought the mezz due to the look of the 2.1. Mezz has been meh at best. Went to the pgass to try the link with all intentions of purchasing one. Just to play around, picked up the 2.1 in an armlock. Money!!! Couldn’t miss my line. It was unreal. Went home and purchased one that night. 41/71 with the Accra shaft. It really is like magic. Mezz will be sold or just collect dust.

Not sure why, but after a couple of months I can honestly say I prefer the original Mezz to the Mezz Max. I just roll it better for whatever reason, especially lag putting.

Might be the grip (Mezz has the larger Press II, the Max has the 1.5), but the Mezz head feels a little heavier and I just seem to hit my line and speed correctly more often. I realize I am probably in the minority on this, but I'm sticking with the Mezz (and the DF 2.1).

I see DF drills on YouTube. Are those drills to be used with MEZZ1 as well or do different drills apply?

Really finding a nice groove with the DF armlock. Carded my career round with it over the weekend with a 73. 29 putts with 10 greens hit. Only made one birdie that was a sliding downhill 10 footer but never came close to a 3 putt and was 75% on up and downs with some clutch par saves in the 5-10 foot range. Lipped out a long one for birdie on 16 to get it back to even and missed birdie putts on 17 and 18 but I feel like the armlock will give me my best chance at shooting or breaking par this year.

That's awesome and congrats. I'm going into my 3rd week with mine and finally getting the lag putting down. This has been the hardest part of the transition from a standard to an armlock putter for me. 10' and in is money!!!!!!!!

I own a DF 2.1 Broomstick and I recently demo’d and want the 2.1 Armlock. If I was purchasing a new broom I would go DF over the Mezz. As you know, the DF just is so stable and even more critical when swinging a broom.

Yeah for my understanding the mezz is not as stable as the df so that makes it mor appealing, but I really like the look of mezz

but I guess a more stable putter would be the way to go 🙂

I’ve only gotten out to the putting green twice with mine. Still a work in progress. Rolling in the house only does so much for me. Really like the feeling of letting the putter do the work.

Normally I don’t mess with my putter. DF 2.1 fanboy here. But, the Link.1 caught my eye and I’ve been researching it.

I’m a hard guy to shop for as the wife and I generally have all the things we want. That being said, I have it on good authority the woman ordered me a Link.1 with white LA Golf P135 shaft. I have no idea what to expect.

Anyone have an idea on lead times? Anyone rolling this build?

🤤🤤🤤

Great wifey- I hope it doesn’t take too long to get here!

Coming off back to back to back difficult putting performances. (4 strokes lost putting each via Arccos) In the past I’d be on the putting green with half a dozen putters. Instead, I rolled a few with my previous gamer (Scotty 5.5) and it felt so foreign, went right back to the DF. Can’t say I won’t continue to experiment, but it was SHOCKING to roll something else after 10 months exclusively with the DF.

First nine with the DF today. Still figuring out distances with it. Main reason I didn’t putt well. I need to trust it won’t go for miles. As for start lines everything was great. Just need to hit the putts with better pace.

My like 20th round today my DF and I could not stop hitting it by 3 feet today. So frustrating. My distance control has been off lately.

This is my 3rd week with mine and with switching to Armlock. Still struggling a little with the lag putting as well. I believe it's because with the Armlock you can't really feel the weight of the putter head. I've been leaving about 50% of them 3' - 5' short. But damn, 10' and in is money so well worth the transition time.

I bought a broomstick 2.1 and have been using it

in my basement with the help of a putting simulator. I assume it’s balanced to the 79.5 lie angle because I bought it off the rack at pga superstore..From the exputt simulator, I get face angle at impact and  putter path and ball direction and ball speed data.  Face angle at impact is 85-90% of the equation. Putter path has some but not much effect. I love the putter.  I’ve never hit the line so often. Like others have commented, putting has gone from something I dread to something I can’t wait to practice. To me that says everything. I actually got outside today on an uneven practice green and could tell that my 4.9 index is going to drop and I couldn’t be more thrilled .  I have always tried to vary the length of my backstroke to the length of the putt trying to keep the velocity of the putter head the same. The broomstick motion is so very different from a conventional putter. I’ll post again after my first few rounds here in Ohio.

Congratulations! Love my DF Broom. It’s just so easy to stroke it and put the ball on line. Enjoy watching the putts fall more often. Let us know how you get along after a few rounds.

@labgolf i have the DF2.1, but i struggle with the larger grip.  I tend to putt the best when i use a skinny grip with a flat front.  Can i throw a standard grip on the putter or would that defeat the purpose of the tech?

Sorry if this was asked before. I’m right eye dominant right handed and was told all my life to adress the ball under my right eye. With the D.F 2.1 it is recommended to put the ball way forward in your stance. Isn’t there a problem with alignment?

Im VERY right eye dominant and have a DF 2.1 and have no issues with it being further forward in my stance. It took about 9 holes to get more comfortable with it being there.

Today I brought two putters with me (playing alone before work), my gamer for the past year (Scotty 5.5) and my DF 2.1 that I got a few weeks ago and after 2 holes I went right back to my DF 2.1 as it was better at hitting my line and speed was way better.

I'm also very right eye dominant - my left eye vision has always been way worse than my right. Exclusively gamed the OG DF since 2017 with no issues. The center shafted is the most comfortable hosel for me visually, and I like the way it sits back in the head with the built in forward press in the grip. You don't have to play way forward for it to work correctly, but I think relatively more forward is recommended and useful, especially on longer putts and a good thing to try if you are struggling with distance control. But within reason. I think that personal preferences/setup variances, length of stroke, etc. suggest some variance. I probably prefer it more back and stand open with my feet than the average, but it's still forward.
