my first practice session was better than expected but felt the head wasn’t consistently square at contact. While putting at home that evening, I realized my grip was way too tense (anchor hand and low hand). Ever since, a light grip with a slow back stroke has been unbelievable.  Get out of the way of the club and just let it swing.  No manipulation.  
 

I have not had a round with the broomstick with more than 29 putts in the last two weeks.  I can’t believe how quickly this method has become second nature. 

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing. I posted in the LAB Broomstick thread that I got it all figured out. This thing should be illegal! Last 3 rounds were 28, 28, and 23 putts. Best scores of the year and personal best at my home course. Could not ever imagine putting this well.

Does anyone have a quick verbal or picture comparison of the Press 2 3 degree vs the Press OG 3.0? I am considering swapping out my Press 2 for the OG but was hoping I could see some pics before I do so. Thanks boys.

Hoping club champion has the Mezz max. I loved my DF2.1 but need to replace it (accidentally stepped on my BST shaft) and trying to decide if I go with it or Mezz max.

 

 

id like to see the difference before buying another $700 putter.

I am trying out a DF broomstick right now.  How are you holding the top hand (grip and which way is your back of hand facing) and what grip are you using on the right hand?

Took me several rounds, practice, and YouTube videos to figure out my grip. My top hand has the back of my hand facing directly away from my chest which places my elbow pointing straight towards the hole (see Adam Scott). Bottom hand is a little different than McCarron or Langer. I hold it almost like a regular putter with my index finger running down the shaft. So when I rock my shoulders (no pendulum swing) my bottom hand almost feels like I am tossing a ball to the hole. Hope this makes sense. 
 

I went from the worst putter to the best putter in my group (16 guys) overnight! Just make sure you get some practice in and don’t give up too quick. Glad I didn’t.

the guys at my club champion didnt have a Mezz max available and literally let me hold the Mezz 1 for like 2 min.  wanted me to come back and get fitted.  id ratehr buy the LAB putter directly from LAB.  

 

just trying to figure out of the Mezz is better for me than a DF2.1.  the look doesnt bother me as i already owned one (before i broke it).  i feel if looks dont bother you, the DF2.1 is more stable and better "at steering itself" than the Mezz.    i dont think it gets more stable than DF2.1

Unfortunately not. The way that its designed doesn't give us the flexibility to keep it balanced with a large range of swing weight options.

FINALLY got to try out a Mezz.1 the other day at PGA Super.

 

I went to go try the Mizuno OMOI 3 again to cement my decision in that putter, and they had a Mezz to try.  I hit about 15 putts with it, and liked it.  Went to the Mizuno, hit 5-6 putts, then back to the Mezz..   and then back and forth.  

 

I think I'm a believer...  but I'd like more time with it.  The problem is that nobody has one usually.

 

I suppose I order one and they retain most of their value if I keep it in good shape and it doesn't work out and need to sell it.

 

Question about the Mezz.1 Max.  Where is the putter larger?  Heel to toe and the fangs?  Is the face any deeper, or the same as the .1?

 

Another usability question..  they had the Press 1.5 grip on the one I tried, it seemed natural to me to want to line the grip up (forward press-wise) with the face of the putter..  is that accurate on how you're supposed to do it?

Has anyone tried a non 3* press on the DF 2.1? I had a fitting and I did not like the 3* press on the 2.1's there....I couldn't try as I'm left handed.  I liked the fitting grip, OG 3*, better.  I really liked the 1.5 as it feels like my current grip.  What are the issues going with a 1.5 Press on the 2.1?

I rolled a DF 2.1 armlock and loved it, very interested in purchasing a standard DF 2.1 from the LAB outlet. Does anyone have any tips on understanding what lie angle I need? I saw they have the online fitting option on the regular site but it seems that is for ordering a brand new putter. Thank you!

Do the online fitting. They will email you the results within a few days. Then you can search the outlet for one in your specs.

Anyone else notice Wyndham Clark using a DF 2.1 at the Houston Open this week?  If you go to the PGAtour website (on Clark's Thursday scorecard), there's a video of him sinking a putt on 18 from. The commentator mentioned the size of the head, then after Clark made the putt, Immelman said he might have to order one!  After Friday's round, Clark is tied for 7th.

Wow I have been looking at these putters for a while now. What amazes me is there is so many broomstick users in this thread.

 

I've never tried the method and always had a putter between 33 and 34 inches. Really want to Try broomstick for the winter.

 

My question is I'm stuck between the Mezz and the DF , also is the stock shaft strong enough in the Broomstick ?? What shaft are other broomstick users using ??

Because the shaft is so much longer with a broomstick, there is significantly more flex when putting.  I would recommend going with an upgraded shaft on the broomstick.  You can’t go wrong with any of the upgrades.  I personally play my Mezz with a LA Golf shaft the most.  I prefer the sound and feel of the Mezz slightly over the DF even though it’s not quite as forgiving (the look of the DF does not bother me one bit).  
 

You won’t regret going broomstick!  Good luck with your choice.
