Which Jones Bag to get?

Just some clarification- three pockets and a bungee strap. One zippered, one draw string and one open for like a cell phone/scorecard holder. As pricey as they are, I absolutely love mine and highly recommend it. I do agree that the strap could be a little better. I am eventually going to look for some type of padding to attach to it.

All that said, just ordered a Jones players bag for my wife yesterday haha I’ve been waiting for this sale for a couple of months.

Just ordered the Utility Rover, saw one in the wild and liked that it was somewhat structured and has about the right amount and size of pockets

I love using the Utility Rover. I keep switching around all of them, because they all look great. I grew up using a double strapped Ping L8 so i really enjoy the double straps on the Utility Rover.

I will be playing three rounds during this Holiday while family visits, The rover is ready to rock. one walking and two in carts.

Pulled the trigger on the Players, I like it's simplicity, but I am wondering if I should have bought the Rover.... Not going to lie, I will not be walking much so I am thinking it doesn't matter, I just like the look and functionality as I don't tend to carry much in my bag normally anyway... Any input on the Rover VS. the Players?

Did you fit all 14 clubs in your seasmus bag? Why did you choose Seamus over Jones and a mac?

 

What are some of your favorite features of the Seamus bag. I really want a sunday walker.

You can fit 14, but the grips get a bit tangled. I normally carry 9 or 10 comfortably (I’m a short hitter so need another fairway wood). I chose Seamus mostly because I’ve always liked the company. I use their head covers, hard goods and have given their flasks/pouches as gifts while on golf trips. I’ve always thought the products I’ve ordered from them have been well crafted. I do like the Mac bags as well, just never was too serious about them. The one thing about the jones bag I don’t like is the plastic bottom. It’s very minor, but don’t love it.

The Seamus bag is super light and has the right amount of pockets. It makes sure you don’t carry unnecessary crap haha if you want to bring a jacket/rain gear, you can store it easily with the bungee cord. Aesthetically, I love the look and have gotten compliments on the course. I’ve just really enjoyed it as a bag and use it for any walking round I do or when I know the course I’m playing at has a good beer selection ;)

Pulled the trigger on an olive trouper to go with my stripeshow. 40% off is tough to beat.

What are your thoughts on the Stripeshow? I have the Navy Trouper and am thinking of getting a carry bag to add along with my stand bag.

I love it. Carry 14 clubs with it without an issue and the white faux leather is super easy to keep clean. I’ve been carrying it in some nasty weather and any dirt wipes down with ease. Only reason I’m getting the stand bag is the odd time I cart or go on a trip the bag is just a little small.

Just pulled the trigger on it based on your comments, Thanks Haber!! I walk 70/30 of my rounds with majority being dew sweeper times and want a simpler bag for these rounds. I like look of the Player series but the Stripeshow vinyl seems to be the logical choice with the wet turf. Much like your expected usage, I plan to switch out bags when riding/traveling and walking.

Even though I love my custom Hoofer I pulled the trigger on a Stripeshow. Anyone have any experience with this on a golf cart?

Wondering if anyone out there can post a photo of what the heather finish looks like on the Players. Impossible to tell off the website and concerned about what textured poly might look like in real life. Most interested in the grey or tan. Thanks

MIG... guy in my club had one, never walked... bag seemed to be fine on the back of the cart, looks a little goofy but he never seemed to have any trouble with it. I will say, I carried a Hoofer Lite for the first time today and I was really impressed with the bag, holds everything I need and doesnt feel overweight, evenly distributed on both shoulders. Nice carry.

Has anyone seen/got their new Varsity Stand Bag?

Intrigued as it has the old stand mechanism (rather than a foot), and hopefully has a four way top rather than having a putter well (which I hate on bags!).

I'm looking at the grey Varsity Stand Bag. Description indicates the classic 3 way top. It also indicates a "Quick Draw drawstring pocket keeping mid round essentials at the ready", not sure what that is referring to since pics don't seem to show a drawstring-type pocket.

Great bag.. I have a barely used one that I am holding onto. I love everything about that bag, but the top is just a tad too tight so I am on a Hoofer Lite for now, but the Utility is one of my favorite bags ever. The Varisty looks like a more modern design of the Utility, and a good alternative since they seem to be phasing out the Utility.

I’m torn between the utility trooper and utility rover. I want to walk more but realistically, I think I will be 50+ percent on a golf cart still next year.
