I saw everything at Golfdom today, was really excited but came away not interested in anything but the driver. Drivers look good, but fairways are WAY too big. 20cc bigger than M5. It looks like a Mini driver. Max fairway and hybrids sat closed. You might be able to land something tour issue on the bay that will sit square to open, but not a single retail version. I put at least 10 on the ground to check and every single one looked like a hooker. I'm sure they will sell, but to the crowd that prefers their fairways closer to the 150cc mark they will be looking elsewhere. They might sell a couple hybirds because of people buying into the DJ/Rory hype train, but those things will hit the BST at light speed. The Mizuno ST200 and Cobra stuff looked better. I'd expect both of them to continue to make ground in the wood space this season. Still haven't seen the Callaway stuff but right now I'd be leaning towards Mizuno for 2020.

You must be seeing thing differently than I am. I don't see the SIM more upright than the M5, actually see SIM a little flatter than M5 which I like. I hear what you are saying on the spec stickers, but most of the pro's like that slightly more upright head to create that easy draw.

I never like the feel of the Ti head. Never gamed it. I have a Tour Issue M3 fairway that feels great and its a hot head as well.

Actually the M5 is 161 cc for the 3wd.

The smaller head is not as small as you say. It still larger than the 161cc M5 but smaller than the 180 SIM. I don't have the cc's on it but it looks to be about 168 to 172 cc. It has identical graphics. They both sit square. No reference to be a Tour club or anything else. Interestingly I believe most of the tour players are initially going with the standard 180cc.

Regardless My tests so far are really good with both. I wouldn't be surprised if most of the players move to the SIM from the M5 which has been popular for those who like adjustability. The SIMs has a higher launch at the same loft settings.

Yeah I have a shaft I’m trying to see how long it will play installed. I know a driver you add an inch when installed but not sure on the fairway shafts

from the few fairway shafts I have that are not installed all measure at 42.5". which give me a 43" 3 wood in a M3 head. your lengths may vary based on which head you use.

The TM rep was at my local Golf Galaxy today fitting SiM drivers and fws. I got to hit the SiM fw and I'm buying one. It sets up great, feels good, and the ball goes. In a basic stock setup, I was hitting it as far as my TS2 - and I haven't hit a ball in months and wasn't dressed for it so I'm sold. It doesn't look as big as my TS2 either and that's 175cc. It's definitely bigger than the M5 but it doesn't look too big if you're worried about the size.

Also, I got a free pack of new balls @TaylorMade Golf is releasing this year - the Tour Response. Supposed to be a softer tour ball from what the rep was saying. I'm guessing it'll compete with the AVX and Tour B RX. Can't wait for spring now.

Definitely interested in this as well. I have a 2016 m1 fairway that I upgraded from the RBZ 2. That one was a little bigger but I've gotten used to the smaller head so I don't know if I'll love the new one. I guess I will only know when I finally see this thing in the wild. But I am interested to see what the tour shapes are. I have never bought a tour club but I bang my three wood around pretty hard so I would consider.

I can tell you that the two clubs look so much alike that one has to put them side by side to tell any differences. I have hit one thinking it was the other only to put it back in the bag and notice that it wasn't the one I thought as I have markings on the bottom of the smaller head to tell at a glance. Whereas the M5 is quite easy to notice the size differences. I have yet to decide which one I will lean on more between the two SIMs. Still working with them. I may set them up for different conditions if there isn't a clear choice when set up the same. Regardless as much as I liked the M5, these SIMs seem to have a higher launch at the same lofts and are smoother thru the turf.

Has anyone measured the shaft length (with adapter) vs. build length on the SIM fairways? How much length does head add? Thanks.

Looks like Koepka has switched to the SIM fairway from his M2 Tour 3 wood. Not sure how long that will last.
