These tour head pictures I'm seeing don't really look any smaller. Maybe they're holding onto that closer to 180 cc size? and/or liking it? I don't mind the bigger size aesthetically but I am curious how it does getting out of medium lies in the rough that my M1 is fairly good at...

The Sim Max 5w i picked up is Exactly the same lie angle as the M6 fairway it is replacing - no delta there - 59.5

I have both and they are not easy to tell the difference unless side by side. The markings are exactly the same. The difference is only about 10 to 12 cc's. I am taking both to Orlando because I haven't decided which is best yet. I got the impression that the 180 head is winning out early on with the Tour guys that aren't going with the Max. It may take a month to sort everything out with the big guys (and maybe me too).

I actually really like the larger sized SIM ti fairway wood unlike most on this site. I mainly hit it from the tee so like the larger size for a fairway. Hit my TS3 really well last year but I don't like the glossy finish on the top so going to trade it in and order the SIM ti 3 wood and SIM driver.

I see you have the speeder 757 x in your current 3 wood. How do you think that compares to the Ventus black? I love the speeder 757 tx in the driver but looking to order the SIM driver and 3 wood. Have a lot of trade ins so looking to try out the Ventus 6x in driver and 7x in fairway since I can't do 7x and 8x through TM website. Hoping they don't feel too light though and trying to figure out if I should get the 6x tipped at all or just order both in 7x.

Guys that have tested, what are you doing loft wise versus last years M5 offering? increase full degree? Playing G410 LST at 7* thinking about SIM 10.5 turned all the way down

My son is getting fit for the SIM driver tomorrow. He currently plays an M5 with all the weights out. I'm curious to see if he gets better numbers with Max or if any gains at all over his M5.

I had a fitting this week and tried both the Ventus Black 6x and 7x in the driver and saw a pretty big difference especially in dispersion. The 7x was much for consistent for me, but I have been playing a 70g driver shaft for at least 10 years.

Took a demo Ti 15 deg 3 wood out for a quick 9 holes and hit some balls on the range today. I found it looked very good and I didn't find it big. This is in comparison to my smaller and shallower G410 LST 3 wood. I didn't find it hard to hit off the deck and the sound was more pleasing and quieter than my Ping. I wasn't even looking for a fairway this year as I am pretty happy with my current setup but I will most likely purchase one to replace the G410 LST. I didn't try the Max as it looked very upright to me and I play flatter lies. I think TM did a great job this year on their releases.

I never thought my M2 FW would be retried, then I got the 3...then the M5....and now the SIM

Love it off the tee and more off the fairway...Ventus 7X with velocore

You have to demo outside to truly test...ball flight is rock solid.

I am finding that you will want a higher loft then the m5. But, hit it and see.

 

I seem to remember you bring someone that is fighting spin some. You may be one of those that the 8 degree works for. I couldn’t get if airborn enough. I am playing the 10.5 turned down to 9.75 and the weight all the way in the toe.

For those of you who are ordering the fwy wood, if you shorten the playing length; TaylorMade will not ship it with the stated sw of D3. I played my first round yesterday with it, looks and sound are great, but the swing weight is probably C5 at best and it was a struggle to hit solid.

Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement weights to bring the sw up?

The SIM Driver and hybrid are awesome, probably the easiest hybrid I have ever hit.

What weights are you talking about? I thought there were no removable weights on the fairways?

I ordered mine -0.25" to play at 43.

The weight in the sole of the club head, I know it was stated it couldn’t be removed , but everyone knows it can be removed.

I’m heading to my local PGA Superstore now to verify the swing weight and Proceed from there; I ordered mine at -3/4 in length because I like a shorter shaft in a 3 wood.

Maybe you should verify with TM that yours will be at D3, I read in one of the forums on here that TM wouldn’t accept sw requests, but would build to the default sw- my bad for not verifying with TM.

If you have someone local to hot melt the head, that's the route I would go if weights aren't available

Just returned from having the swing weight checked, the swing weight was C2-totally unplayable!

I would definitely make sure your club before it’s shipped will be set to the default swing weight.

taking a .5" off the length of the shaft will change the SW by 3 points to the lighter side. plus it depends on what weight grip you're using.

Got it. I hope removing a quarter inch wouldn't affect it too much. I am sticking in a Tour AD MT 7S shaft in there so I will get my club builder to check it all out.

Has anyone hit the Sim 3 wood and how does it feel compared to the M5. I don’t know if it was the Titanium but I thought the M5 felt terrible and was curious to see what everyone thought of the new Sim.

Soo much better. The M5 to me has a very strange feeling. I suspect it had to do with the extremely large weight in the sole. The SIM is much more solid feeling.
