Looks like this is all about the attorney, IMO, getting some pub - and going through all the drivel about Reed's past isn't going to help the situation, haha.

 

Chamblee absolutely has the right to express an opinion, and will likely continue to do so. Reed will never be able to prove malice or have it implied and unlike Tiger there isn't a lengthy and loud diatribe of history where Chamblee has been torching him. Attorney knows it. Good way to get Haney's name back out there though since everyone forgot after about two days he was suing the Tour.

 

Don't defend Brandel often, if ever, but he seems to be taking it for what it is worth - not much.

I see both sides here and agree with Brandel and Reed. Brandel can say whatever , he’s only stating his opinion. And yet I agree that Reed didn’t cheat per the eyes of the pga tour and golfs rules. He may have cheated the spirit of the game. Only he knows that. And as the article said. The UGA coach had no knowledge ( signed an affidavit to that effect ) of any theft allegations when he dismissed him from the team. A fact that is so widely unknown or unaccepted here. Shane Ryan’s blathering nonsense is believed before the actual facts on that front.

 

Its a whole ball of shat at this point. But I’m not sure if I’d cow tow and kiss the public ring either. Not at this point. Even if he did. They aren’t going to treat him differently than they are now. If you’re going to be thought the villain. May as well wear it with pride. Just a lot of dumb rolled into one.

Reed technically didn't cheat, he was assessed a penalty and successfully penalized those strokes. He didn't cheat anyone

More accurate would be to call him an attempted cheater.

Even then, I dont like Reed but this is a dangerous game by people like Chamblee. I think the media is already basking in unnacountability for things that they say. In a recent lawsuit, a major news company actually argued in court that they shouldn't be held accountable for inaccurate things that they print. And this was a major news site.

I dont like Reed but I still dont think Chamblee should be saying that. It's more opinion than fact and that is a slippery slope. I wish the media would go back to news and less to clickbait opinions they position as facts because they said so
