Ventus Red

Ventus red is nuts, I think it’s the perfect mid/mid type shaft without the loose feeling. I hit it pretty high in my 10* TSi2 driver but I was hitting it kinda low in my 9* TSi3 head so I’m thinking 9* TSi2 could be Goldilocks. It just feels fast but stable. It’s in both my fairway woods because it’s perfect for that type of club, really overlooked shaft due to the red monicker

I’ve got a 6x tipped 2” playing 44” in a Cobra Ltd OG and wow is that a good combo. I’m not a beast by any means (112 ss) but tipping that much didn’t seem to make it play stiffer, just launch and spin slightly less. Still smoother than the blue and black for me. Originally had it tipped an inch and was ok but went an additional inch and it fits me great.

I got Ventus Red in the Stealth Plus woods and this shaft is legit good.

I use Ventus Blue 7x in my driver and Have used a black in an older 3 wood!!

The red has all the great characteristics of the Ventus line but so easy to hit in a fairway wood!!

totally an underrated shaft compared to its other siblings:)

Anyone play the Red in a Ping 425 Max? I just ordered my be off E-Bay and I’m really looking forward to trying it out.

I had a Ventus Red 6S Velo in my G425 Max. For me, it was a bit loose and spinny. I’ve replaced it with a Ventus Blue 6S Velo and it’s perfect. I tipped the red a 1/2”and put it in my Son’s Cobra Radspeed XB and it’s a great fit for him. My swing speed hovers around 103. My Son is 110.

You ever consider tipping your Red? Maybe with your son’s speed, it might make it more of a “purple.”

Based on the difference’s in swing dynamics these shafts work for the 2 different examples. No further tipping is needed since swing speed is only 1 factor in the fitting process. Oddly, I played the TSI2 10* last year with a Ventus Red Velocore stiff and it was perfect in that head.

I see someone on eBay selling Ventus Red Velocore 6R, tipped 1.25, calling it purple. Does anyone have any idea how that shaft would play? I would guess close to Black?

It's still a red, just with a very very stiff tip. The "purple" nonsense is coming from guys who desired a tweener shaft. Numbers on a launch monitor when tipping a red 1.5-2" drop the RPM and launch just enough to make it seem like a 'different shaft' but with the same feel as the red.

First time hitting the red 6s was not good for me. I think I reverted to some swing path flaws I got over at the end of last season and I’ve gone back to a little OTT path after the long lay-off. I have to go to the driving range. So, far I hit it into the net (lots of sweet spot strikes) and I played a couple of holes in the evening (slice city).

Red in driver ended up being too tip soft for me, I still love it in my 3 wood. I moved away from my 5 wood to a 18* hybrid, and put an Atmos Red in that since the blue Ventus hybrid doesn’t suit me.  The TR is now in my driver but I am still toying with going back to Black now that I am swinging better. TR is stupid easy in a driver and has a nice blend of stability and kick.

Follow-Up: Went to the range today- hit 150 balls, experimenting with the settings on the G425 and I think I got (for now). I used to play it at 11.5 (+1) in the flat setting and the weight in the toe with my Aldila Rogue White 130 and now play it flat at 10.5 with the weight in the neutral position. I could count how many times I missed the center on one hand… crazy. I doubt I’ll be tipping it- it felt powerful. That’s the best way I could describe it. The Rogue feels dead in comparison.
Nice trajectory too- really looking forward to seeing how much roll I’ll be getting on the fairways.

Been playing Speeder 652s and 661s for years, love them, obviously...

I was just "fit" into the Ventus Red 6S on the Fuji site. Looking to get a bit higher launch than the Speeder, but keep the same weight.

They are a bit pricey (I have a variety of drivers and fairway woods) so I'm looking for more affordable options.

First round of the year and I couldn’t discern what kind of roll I’ll be getting with the Ventus as it was very soggy, but on the flip side I could very easily measure the carry distance as my ball either plugged or made a mark on the fairway. It was a windy 40 degree day and I hit a couple that carried 265, which is very good for me. (My average last year was 262). Looking forward to warmer dryer conditions. So far so good.

Could anyone maybe compare the handle stiffness to another shaft?  I have been playing the blue 6s in driver, love it.  I have a 17deg Callaway UW and was thinking maybe a Red 7s.  But I really dont like shafts that are crazy stiff in the handle.  I tried the HZRDUS Red in a 3 wood one time and it had zero feel.

Ventus red is not available as a hybrid shaft. The stock shaft in the Stealth hybrid is the Taylor Made Ventus which is an entirely different animal.  I may work for you but it isn't what is being discussed here

JK, I don’t think you’ll have a problem.

Last year I was Red D-4-7. (G425Max, 4 is a 5 turned down to 16°, 6S tipped 1”, 6S, 7S).

Just switched to Blue TR (6S) in my driver and leaving Red in the fairways…I find this to be a fantastic combo, and may hang up my gear chasing spurs for a good while.

I hit the 4wood off the tee occasionally, but mostly off the deck.  98-100 SS

After half the year in a SIM2 Accra TZ6, took the ole PXG Proto with the Velo Red tipped 1/2” out and man I missed this shaft. It’s going to get the starting position for the next 6months. It’s stable yet active if that makes sense. I get an “easy” to load feel but stable like the TZ6 but definitely easier
