 What was the deal

Isn't Golf Partner just used clubs for the most part? Advertising for them or was there a deal because seems weird they would run a deal right before their black friday deal coming up it shows on their website

Not advertising for them. I bought an open box set of ZX 5s from them (im in US) and they are on the way. There is also one set of ZX 7s that were still for sale as of last night. And there is a 30% off pre-Black Friday coupon.

Went into my local shop today just to mess around hitting the new Srixon range. Things escalated quickly. I didn't even want new clubs.

Ended up doing a full fit and ordering the ZX5 in 5-6 iron and ZX7 in 7-AW, with KBS $ Taper 120 Stiff.  Currently gaming 921 Tours with the Project X 6.5 for reference.

Having hit the Tour and ZX7 side by side I really enjoyed the softer feel of the Srixon. Performance on off centered strikes was noticeably better. The ZX5 longer irons were ridiculously easy to hit, launch conditions were optimal, and forgiveness was next level. Where I would lose 15% on a bad strike in my current set I was losing nothing with these. I feel like I am giving up nothing and gaining so much by going the combo route. I'll admit the ZX5 face does feel faster and I wouldn't want that in my short irons, but for the long irons it's a small trade off for so much extra help.

I also really enjoyed the $ Taper shaft and had outstanding results with it. While the PX 6.5 is absolutely precise for me, I do find that i need to work hard to get results (i.e. 95mph+ 7 iron swing speed). By comparion the $ taper was effortless, consistent but could also handle when I went after one. The combination of shaft/head change had me consistently hitting a full club further than my current set but maintinaing excellent numbers. Given the added carry I went 5-GW instead of 4-PW which gives me a vacant slot in the bag to play around with (!!).

The other surprise was that in Australia Srixon are an absolute bargin, with the set costing almost half the price of my 921 Tours. The no upcharge shaft range is also bigger than the UK/US too but all grip options are upcharged at full RRP.

@bombs

Can you let me know what the bonded playing length (in hand not posted specs) of the ZX irons you tested out vs the 921 Tours?

Did they ship yet? I can't really see them adding "import fees" as it is a US based website and there was no mention of it prior to checking out.

Mine shipped yesterday.

It is possible that customs fees are added when they arrive in the US, but based on reading customs/taxes information (im not an expert), we should not be charged any import fees for anything under $800 in value.

I had seen the ZX 5 and 7 sets go up on Golf Partner about 2 weeks ago and had been waiting for the pre-BF code to come since im a subscriber to their newsletter. The code came at midnight a few days ago and I ordered the ZX 5s within an hour lol.

Will do.

Having had the two 7 irons side by side the Mizuno's are a couple of mm longer, but I did not measure so may not be the case, or the slight difference in lie angles could be a factor.

The 5 does have a 'badge' but you have to know that it's there to know there's a difference. People may not like the ZX7 looks in a direct comparison to the 785 series but imo the two new models match looks brilliantly and makes blending incredibly smooth. Picture is ZX5 7 iron and ZX7 8 iron

@Caesar's shankhow did you blend the lofts so that they have proper gapping, and also offset.

Has anyone had the ability to compare the sole width of the ZX5 as opposed to the 585's? My hope is that they are not as wide as the 585's.
