In need of a good Golf Mat

This is the set-up I'm putting in my garage.  The SPG-7 net has gotten some strong reviews and the DuraPro Residential mat has as well. It sounds like your just looking for the mat alone and I found the DuraPro to be affordable with not too many negatives.  It's made in a few flavors so you can certainly go with their commercial model if needed.

I've had a Country Club Elite for the past 5 (almost 6) years and it has served me exceptionally well. I normally hit between 70-100 wedges 4-5 days a week with it and it does not exhibit any wear whatsoever. There are a few who complain about it being too harsh and causes joint pain and discomfort but I personally have RA and have not found this to be the case.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

Check out the Wittek Quattro. I have one and seems to be the best blend of everything.

I have a Country Club Elite. Works well but as others have stated it does ware on your arm.  Have a small solution to the arm problem? I hit off a tee thats about 1/8 inch above the mat, solved the arm problem. I'll about 200 balls with the tee no issues with the arms.

I have a garage setup with a Net Return Home.  Initially I started with the mat that came with it, but started having some neck/scapula pain on my left side.  Tried adding some 1/2" rubber flooring tile underneath, but that didn't help.  Ended up getting a Fiberbuilt 5x4 on Cybermonday, and few weeks later my neck pain is nearly gone and I'm still playing rounds actively.  Couldn't be more happier with Fiberbuilt.

i have tried a bunch...monster mat which is similar to the CCE and was punishing on fat shots and unrealistic from that standpoint. Also too much resistance causing some elbow pain. Used divot action as well and it seemed better but almost not enough resistance with the flexion. Fiberbuilt while it is very forgiving it doesn't allow you to feel the compression of impact and it acts as a ball sitting up on the first cut of rough and also too forgiving. I then got a cutout insert of the YT golf mat from china which is almost exactly like the wittek mat and so far it seems to be pretty good. Good compression but not so punishin as the CCE/monster mat. I have a regular stance mat that I have cut a space out for an use the various inserts interchangeably which is nice to allow you to decide what works for you...

How has this mat held up for you? Doing a set up in my garage and looking for a good mat to go on concrete... but not looking to spend $300+ on a mat.

So far so good - I have it in my garage as well. Been using 2-3 days a week and it looks brand new. It's a little firm but has give when hitting, so its comparable to being in the fairway.

I cannot recommend these enough.  I bought this and a skytrak pre-COVID (Nov/Dec 2019 thank god) and I have hit thousands of shots on it.  No visible wear so far and I hit shots almost every other day.  It lets you know when you mishit it, but its not punishing and I have experienced zero pain anywhere.

You might shy away because its a 'used' mat, but they are extremely high quality and very inexpensive for what they are.  I ordered the Grade B.  No complaints, it came looking practically new.  Very high quality and from pictures kinds looks like a CCE.  But again I have had zero pain so far.

***Edit:  Just realized everything they have is out of stock.  Bummer since they are awesome mats.

My quattro just arrived.  It is fantastic.  Much better on the joints than the CCE mat and doesn't promote the 'hit it a little fat' swing flaw.  You can tell thin, fat, nice shot every time.  And customer service is superior with excellent shipping times.  I am very satisfied.

Paid 325 plus shipping.  Arrived in 2 days from order.

Yea I agree. I also love that it is one solid mat versus a hitting strip. The ability to rotate it for longer life is just another plus.

The guys at TXG use the EZTee from STI (Synthetic Turf Int'l).  They love it and that's what I would buy.  If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.

That is a good endorsement.  Do you know which of the three options they use?  Looks like EZTee comes in three different kinds of turf.

Looks like they use EZTee Hybrid, per this link:

Divot action mat. Probably the closest to a real fairway and also easy on the joints. I would stay away from country club elite or other mats with thick fibers that will grab the club excessively . I like the Wittek Quattro as well

Agree, if you have elbow/wrist pain divot action is the way to go.

Absolutely incredible.

I purchased a GC Quad a few months back and have been hitting balls literally every day off this mat and I LOVE it.  No joint pain, feels incredible, does not move at all.  It's a bit spendy, but worth every penny.

I got one of the new Fiberbuilt Hourglass Pro studio mats. Love it so far -- 2 days in.

https://fiberbuiltgolf.com/products/hourglass-pro-studio-mat-kit-single-hitting

My set up is in my garage where I also need to park, so need quality and portability. Had the Practice Station from Costco (also Fiberbuilt product) but didn't like hitting on the flight deck oval. This new one is a definite upgrade and still breaks down easily and slides out of the way for car to come in.

Another big fan of Fiberbuilt. I started with a CCE and got some wrist pain after continuous use. I use the CCE as my stance mat and bought a strip of Fiberbuilt turf to hit off of. If I were starting from scratch, I would go with one of the Fiberbuilt setups with turf for the stance portion- the black oval on the cheaper "Flight Deck" model seems like it would give a weird sensation.

I've been looking at this mat for my garage as well. Trying to decide between the more expensive one with grass hitting strip vs just the performance mat for about half the price. Wondering what the hitting stance portion of the studio mat is like if you can hit irons/wedges off of it? Is the stance mat on the hourglass pro studio the same as the hourglass performance series mat?

The stance mat is very thin turf layer over a very thick and heavy rubber base. It felt nice to stand on, but I wouldn’t want to hit off it from what I remember.

I ended up selling this and going with a pretty simply 4x5 driving range type stance mat with a rectangular cut out for a DIY “divot action” type hitting strip.

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling that it was a thin mat you don't hit on. I might just get a 5x5 or 5x4 hourglass performance turf for the garage. Also been looking at the gungho divot action type mat but wasn't sure how heavy it was or how much it would move around. The gungho hitting strips fit in the hourglass studio mat too so I'd have two options for hitting surfaces but then I'm spending a lot.

My advice after spending way too much on various mats over the pandemic is to get a simple stance mat, cut out a rectangle and insert something like a divot action or the gung ho mat. I solved the moving around part with some 2” Velcro strips on the corners.

PS check your local driving range(s) for a stance mat. I picked up a used mat  from a local course when they cycled them out of their range. The hitting area was a little worn but didn’t matter ‘cause I cut it out.
