Anyone playing pitching wedge and gap same length

I never have but I’m reshafting a new gap and think I will make the same as pw

Yes I do. 45* PW and 49* gap same length. Fills my gaps perfectly.

Unless your PW and GW heads are the same weight, this isn't generally the way to go.  Sure you can do it, but shaft length is governed by head weight unless you're willing to get radical with tip weighting and/or lead tape.

I play my 9-P-G-S-L Single Length at 36.0" ungripped, with great results.

I can get my 9-P-G to the same swing-weight without much "intervention" other than normal tip weights.

For S and L wedges, I usually have to drill out the hosels to remove as much weight as I can before worrying about drilling out the side of the hosel.  For S and L,  these days I'm using  RTX-4, which are very heavy at stock SW of D5.  Mine play heavier than I want, but it's really no concern for me, and I'd say costs me 0 strokes.

I built my gap wedge to match my pitching wedge exactly.  Really its more like carrying two pitching wedges, one at 46* and the other at a more classic 50*.  This setup works well for me, they gap well with full swings and I use both for pitching and chipping.

I have my 50 deg. gap set at the same as my 9 iron to get the weight up. It must be around D5-6.

My PW and GW are the same shaft length.  44 and 48 degree lofts respectively.

What heads is everyone playing in the Pw and GW? Is the GW a traditional wedge or matching the irons?

Planned to build them the same length.  But as I was reusing a shaft from another head, the GW came out 1/8" shorter.  Not enough to worry about correcting with an extension.   Same swing weight.

 

Also do the lob and sand wedge at the same length - 1/4" shorter than the PW.

There has always been a running discussion/argument about wedge length. Some advocate 9-P-G same length. S & L a bit shorter. One thing my several attempts at SL showed me was I did not like the shorter lower number clubs but I did like the longer 8 to W's so I now adjust iron length to reflect this.

For me I go standard 1/2" gap all through the set including from 9 to PW, then GW is the same as PW, then SW is 1/4 shorter than GW, then LW is 1/4 shorter than SW.  D3 through the 9i, then D4 for PW and GW, then D5-6 for SW, D6-7 for LW.

 

Just a feel thing, with no wrong way to do it--though I don't think you can figure out what works best for yourself without good old fashioned trial and error.

My pw and gw are the same length.  My sw is 1/4" shorter and the lw is another 1/4" shorter.  Ping i200 pw, gw and Ping Glide 2.0 sw, lw.

For my sets that require a gap wedge, I usually set it at the same length as the PW, maybe 1/4" shorter.  Only slightly above average height, but with short than average arms, so I've tended to prefer slightly longer wedges.

Same length here too for PW and GW.  They are like a pair with similar overall weights and swingweights, same lies, playing mostly full-ish shots.  Then SW and LW are like a pair, same length at 1/2" shorter than PW, similar weights, heavier shafts, playing mostly less-than-full shots.

This in part has to do with weight and balance of the clubheads.
