Swag Putters

Anyone have any recent experience gaming a SWAG putter, ideally a Suave Too?

I'm very close to pulling the trigger on one but wanted to see if I could find any more reviews and info before I did it. I've had a number of higher end putters that I've used, sold, and traded over time and I'm really trying to get off the carousel this time (I mean it!).

Very tempted by the Suave Too because it is the first (non-custom) putter I've found that checks all the boxes I've liked in one putter: No. 2 Angular Shape, Flow Neck, Sight Dot, Mid-ish Weight (under 360g), moderate (30-45 deg) toe hang (at least on the lower side for a blade like this)...

Sure, the name is a little flashy for me, but I do like the blue color and as a born & raised Chicagoan (although now living in CA), I like the idea of supporting a hometown company.

Sadly haven't seen any in the BST and no way to demo them of course so I figured I'd turn here for reviews (or just encouragement)!

I have never had a Suave Too but I had a few handsome putters. Really great putter with decent feel and outstanding quality! I would recommend the swag BST on facebook and game pages. That is where most of the sales happen for their stuff

I recently bought (from the BST here) a Sounds Great Suave Too prototype.

https://swag.golf/products/rad-sounds-great-suave-too-prototype

Like you it checked a ton of my boxes - flow neck, clean sight dot without a lot of other alignment/clutter. And I'm a sucker for a sound slot. I was a little worried about the flashiness, especially the shaft.

But so far it's gotten a lot of curiosity/compliments from playing partners, and I love the feel. It's the first putter that's even temporarily kicked my Artisan out of the bag in 3 years.

Very cool, I love the idea of a sound slot but I didn't know that they made that one with the sight dot, that is sweet (although I might be scared of the shaft in public as well).

Looks like that was the prototype for a lot of the features (except the sound slot) that have now made it into the mainline Suave Too.

I'm excited that my Suave Too should be arriving tomorrow, will let you know what I think once it gets here!

Cross posting myself from the new putter thread... but I'm totally loving my new Suave Too. First putter I've owned that finally ticks all of my design boxes in one place (I feel like I've been experimenting a ton for the last couple of years trying to figure out what those were)!

Still not sure if I'm cool enough for Swag in general, but I just love the putter! (Don't hate me, but I'm saving the headcover it came with in the packaging bag and just rocking a leather APC cover with blue stitching to game it.)

Sweet stick, very clean looking. Is flow neck the new thing now?

Not sure if it is the new thing or not, but I’m definitely a fan of the trend although I think there are still way more plumbers necks out there for toe hang blades.

Personally I've found that I just get bothered by plumbers necks that sometimes partially block my view of the ball/face. This is probably because I set up with my eyes a bit inside of the ball (instead of all the way over it), but at this point in my life my eyes and brain are just used to what they are used to!

Exclusivity: they produce each one in a small batch, and vow to never repeat a design again in the future.

This is not true for their stock offerings, they’ve restocked multiple times on the different models on their site. However it true for the special releases with custom engravings.

Might get one with a cool headcover some day.

I am trying to get my hands on a SWAG putter, but I have read that their machined milling is what sets them apart from most others.

Matt S. from PluggedInGolf.com speaks very highly of them and made a reference about SWAG putter milling. In the article I linked below he wrote “Most milled putters are made in about 40 minutes.  The King of Diamonds takes 83 minutes…just to engrave the sole!”

https://pluggedingolf.com/swag-golf-king-of-diamonds-putter-review/

Hope this helps.

I love me some swag, but that article can hardly be described as a “review”

more like propaganda

You’re not wrong.. he’s clearly a huge fan. The main point I was referencing from the article was the milling time. I am not familiar with how these times compare to other boutique shops who may focus more on hand work/finishing etc. but wanted to focus on what aspects might differentiate a limited release SWAG putter from other milled putters on the market.

I know for a fact that at least one of their millers worked for Bettinardi for many years. Bettinardi’s original tour fitter also works or did work for them. Quality is as good as any high dollar putter I have owned including Cameron’s and Bettinardi, etc.

This is what I like to hear! I'm very interested in a swag putter, and am curious how long their milling time is on a production level putter and not a limited king diamond one haha.

I've owned a Savage Too for 6 months - satin, sight dot. It has  excellent feel and feedback. You know a good strike from a lesser strike. Sound is perfect to - the milling is neutral - not too soft - you have some good sound which is good feel. Distance control for me is excellent.

I usually make one or two long ones per round - works for me and I've got five other putters from which to choose. The Swag makes the bag.

If you look, you will find history on the founder - I believe he worked for Scott and Bett and also did lots of marketing in addition to the putter side - ergo, the head covers and other accessories.

Swag headcovers are really high quality. The flipping game on these covers is substantial. Does anyone know how many covers Swag releases for any given design? How about the number of Specials? I’ve noticed they take a couple of minutes to sell out and they never tell you the release quantity. I suppose they wouldn’t want anyone to know if they were not really rare at all because they released 1,000 at a time.

They regularly release all that info, just not at the time of each release. Every few months or so they updated the archive.

Social media posts by them said that the next archive update will come after the "Summer of SWAG" is over (which I think means the month of July).

Swag makes great putters, but they are more of a headcover company than a hardcore putter company.   I'm sure it's easier money but I'd like to see them have some more variety, putter wise, to buy.  I own 3 of their putters and love them.

I can't afford to keep up with the headcover game but I do have a suave too that I have to say is superb. Higher quality than I expected and it feels great. Can't say enough good things about the quality and craftsmanship. I thought they were gimmicky as a company but now I have more respect after gaming one

After reading the reviews on this thread, I’d seriously consider buying a Swag putter. I’ve been using the Adam Bomb cover for a half dozen rounds now and the thing still looks and feels brand new (inside and outside). I chuck my covers around a little in the cart and take it on and off between holes, so that’s no small feat to stay basically brand new for 6 rounds. If they make their putters to the same high quality standards as their covers, I’m game. Also, I can’t wait for this next GPK cover to drop. I have the original cards in nice condition to match this one. I have an Adam Bomb card too, but it’s in bad shape.
