There’s a Speed Version 1 which is the retail Speed head. Speed Version 2 has the from and rear weight port. V2 is the head Xander and Rahm are using. V2 is neutral to fade. V1 is neutral to slight draw. Hotmelt will help offset the design bias if that’s your desire.

So when are our Youtube reviewers going to address two elephants in the room that, I think, most of us are interested in hearing about:

1. Ping 425 Fairways and hybrids vs. Taylormade Sim2 alternatives.

2. Srixon ZX irons vs. the 2021 Apex lineup.

I know it's early, but these guys are normally in front of the actual product releases. Any Golfwrx'ers have any experience with, for example, the ZX5/7 vs. the new Apex Pros... ?

I have the ZX7s and have hit the Apex Pros. The Apex Pros seemed very similar to the P770 if you have hit those. I bent the clubs to the same loft and didn’t see any difference in distance. I preferred the sound of the Srixon but that is personal. I didn’t have any difference in dispersion. I get steep so I ended up with the Srixons with the VT sole but I could play about 7 different iron sets and be happy this year. Honestly, all the irons I have hit this year have been really good. Although it’s always the case, I think more than ever, this year is going to about brand preferences.

Yes, I had the opportunity to hit the Apex Pros too. And I would agree, they are directly comparable to the P770s. In fact, in a positive way, I think Apex sold out the market position of the "Pro" in favor of having a directly competitive alternative to the 770, which is a top of the bag long iron replacement for tour players... for the most part.  I liked them, but I prefer the larger head profile in the Srixons. I can't help but believe the Srixons (i.e. ZX 5 and ZX 7) are more forgiving --for anyone. What surprised me, and for those of you who would discount the Apex DCB as a SGI iron, is that its profile is not offensive at all. Not to crazy big, clunky or offset. Very mergeable with the other Apex. Just wish Apex would figure out that vastly different looks are, by default, less desirable to combo.

How would the Max LS compare to either of those for your swing speed , address position ,flight/spin needs and sound/feel?

I dont really like how the LS looks. It is a bit too stretched. The sound is great but honestly I dont find it all that low spin. The standard speed gave me better numbers and and looks better.

I agree on stretched look but speed actually feels "light" in my hands....I'm a slower swinger and slower tempo guy to begin with.....yes , I also agree that the spin isn't all that low however comparing to 17 Epic , it's same launch and dispersion but more ballspeed and lower spin...... being lefty , it's hard to hit most heads in proper loft configuration and the new Mizuno can't be found.....ugh....

I did find a blueboard shaft profile that's a few grams lighter.....UST attas gogo!  Stiff tip and butt ; soft midsection.....need to hit it in the 9* Speed head to make sure but LS is leading on the monitor....

About to build some ZX7s with the MMT 125x. Hit the 7s a few times and was sold. Didn't look anywhere else.
