These shipped out 3 weeks from order date and than sat 1 week in customs.

FML!  Seems every time I try to get something early, I get delayed.  Does not help at all that they won't reply to emails since they won't take international calls.

Apex TCB irons look good. But as an owner of both 2013 and 2018 Callaway x-forged irons, I don’t appreciate the fact that Callaway now “downgraded” the x-forged line to make it a “bulky version of Apex TCB”. X-forged irons use to be the the synonym of “classic and pure irons”. Not any more.

Bulky like SIM 2 irons?  Or...bulky like ZX7?  I think the x forged cbs are classy.  yes, theres a little offset..but nothing crazy.  Hardly a "downgrade"

The Callaway Apex TCB vs. Titleist T100s are probably the closest comparison there is in my opinion...splitting hairs. I’ll get some feedback posted over the next couple days after some range sessions and playability.

Initial thoughts...Apex TCB (same shaft specs:  DG X100 Tour Issue soft stepped):

1). Slightly thicker top line vs. T100s. Narrower soles on the Apex TCB vs. T100s at the top end.

2). T100s “appear” slightly longer in blade length (have not measured).

3).  Hit some balls in the net...4 iron vs. 4 iron...tough call, it’s so close on feel.  The Apex feel slightly softer with a little more “crispness” in feedback in a good way.  A little more response on where on the face the ball was struck.  I think it just comes down to personal preference between the two...no winner or loser between them.

4).  I’ll report back on range feedback...

Might be a dumb question, but are these going to be released "publicly" via Callaway website anytime soon?  I know you can go through a rep but I thought I remembered somebody saying Jaws Forged was going to release with digital presence.  Thought these would be the same.  Regardless, will likely putt an order in but awaiting those elusive lefty comparison pics. 😆

I think X forged CB actually looks slightly smaller than x forged 18. It could just be the difference in the finish. Offset is identical according to the Callaway website.

On paper NO, but to the eye they do look like more the way the hosel is shaped on the Apex TCB.

Not sure if anyone else has actually measured or not?

Not a lot in it.... both good looking clubs.  The thing is...wtf is callaway even doing??  Release the X-Forged then a few months later, release almost literally the exact same club w/slightly less offset and call it an apex

Here are some pictures, showing the full set in the bag , the 9 iron behind the ball. The PW compared to a Srixon 745 PW. The PW and AW together and then the 3 irons behind the ball.

Clubs are impressive, I love the smaller profile, but I am good ball striker.

I love the look of these, and that you have the 3 and A in your set. How does the A feel compared to a Vokey gap wedge? And how forgiving is the 3 iron compared to say an X-Forged UT 21 degree? I hit a 7 iron at a fitting yesterday, and know for sure a set of TCB's will be making their way to my bag once I can get fit with the right shaft for me.

I would agree on this 100%. I game T100's now. T100 vs 21 Apex Pro no brainer to stick with T100. But T100 vs TCB, splitting hairs as you say. I would say they are softer. The best irons I've had were the 14' Apex Pro's. The fitter said the TCB's are as close as you'll get to those in terms of feel, and I'd agree. Good to hear you say the 4 irons are close. If there is one thing the T100's are way better than my 14' Pro's for, its the 4, 5 and 6 irons being way more forgiving. That'll no doubt be the tungsten working its magic. With the T100 and TCB both being tungsten, stands to reason its a close call. If I can get a different shaft dialed in on the TCB that produces better numbers for me, these will be a worthy replacement to the T100. If however the Tour V I currently have in my T100's remains the best shaft for me even in the TCB, the change wouldn't be worth it. Project X IO seems the best chance of this for me. Oddly, the Project X LS in the TCB produced the heighest spin numbers on the day for me, taking some distance away.

The A wedge has quickly become a favourite for me, I dropped my Vokey wedges and got the A wedge and a couple of Jaws Wedges.

The A wedge feels awesome, I have been using it around the green also, ball comes off great and is ideal for those pitch and run shots - I play on firm conditions. The Vokey 50 for me was just too big a profile and too rounded, the A wedge is compact and frames the ball great for my eye; can nip the ball nicely - for me sometimes the Vokey sole on the 50 was not a great fit for firm conditions.

The 3 iron is a breeze to hit and launch. I am a + handicap, so don't struggle generally with irons but this launched with a nice powerful flight - very impressed. Have not tried the X Forged, but it launches better than my 745 3 iron.

Is far smaller, the 745s look huge compared to these - very long blade length. I tried the ZX7, but were not as good as my 745s (they also have the long blade length) and nowhere close to the TCBs. For me the ZX7 did not launch as well, and to me were more like some of the other modern lofted options. I know they have standard lofts, but didn't come off the face like it for me.

I really don't change irons very often, I have had the 745s forever and tried all the new options over the last couple of years. The TCB is the first iron that has made me even think about switching and I am glad I did.

Was exactly the same for me buddy, may have been the modus shaft I tried in them - but doubt it.

I am getting on a bit and the new Project X IO shafts I have in these seem a great fit for me.
