Anyone know of an (ideally magnetic) head cover that fits a Phantom X 5.5? Not sure why but the double-tabbed Velcro closure around the slant neck / shaft bugs me every time I pull the putter and put it back!

This has some options. I’m currently switching between one from Delilah/girliegolfer (originally made for a Ping Oslo) and one I picked up on the bay. Both work fine & aren’t the awful yellow velcro.

I bought a magnetic ping cover for my phantom x 5 and it works well. I play ping woods and its pretty obscure so no one would know there is a scotty under there and it protects it fine.  nothing special but it works

I have a cover from Delilah/GirlieGolfer and love it. Comes off and goes on easily, high quality materials and getting to design it was easy. USuckAtGolf also makes some good magnetic covers (have a blade, not a mallet) that are on the cheaper end if that fits your style.

I have a cheap on from Amazon that seems okay for now. Paid $12.99 so can't complain really and looks better to me that the HC that came with putter.

The magnets aren't the strongest but work fine. There isn't a slot in the cover for the shaft, but it works fine, just kinda presses into the edge. The more I use it the easier it has to throw on and have the magnet lined up.

On my blade I have a Seamus black leather headcover that is VERY good quality, and almost too strong of a magnet. I don’t have issues with this mallet cover but it obviously isn’t as good quality material as the Seamus, but has held up fine so far in 5-10 rounds with it.

I bought the same exact one.

I used some additional thin black padding that was from some random packaging (I think it’s some type of neoprene) to line the inside for some additional protection.

If I could stand the color, it’s only a matter of time before that yellow thing falls of and is lost.  I’ve got the Amazon one mentioned above for my X 5, but not a perfect solution without the slot

 

Anybody tried this one? No slot but seems to have more room for the shaft.

Follow up, I ordered this since they had a free return policy. Fits really well, magnet closure, way easier & better than the split Velcro OEM.

Any head cover made by PRG is pretty dang good. They make a nice mallet style and it works fantastic with my 9.5 and the magnetic closure is very solid.

Just FYI wasn't a fan of these on my 11.5

For leather or ballstic nylon, Rose and Fire (though they are velcro).  I have a ballistic nylon one and it is super padded but bulky. Great padding on all his headcovers, and In use them on my woods & hybrids.

 

PRG originals  are a perfect fit on my Scotty 5.5 and have a magnet closure. I put on a couple of coats of Ecco shoe protector on purchase and the stitched pattern keeps clean. I keep a couple of backups as I did have a magnet come loose inside the cover, but after more than a year.  Some designs available now are a bit funky but you might see older ones at a golf shop/proshop or on eBay. I use the Route 66 one.

I assume in this thread you are asking about putter only. I just have  a driver one that I put on maybe a third of the time.  Great quality and roomy for slipping on and off. There really isn't any padding on the inside though (as I said earler in this thread Rose and Fire ones are well-padded). Don't know if the Dormie putter ones have more padding than wood covers, so you might phone them and ask.

 

If you do get one, I recommend occasional application of good leather cleaner/conditioner, I use the same we use on our leather furniture. I find it really keeps leather  headcovers clean and supple and I think it also minimizes sun fading and some light rain protection.

Why would Scotty Cameron not have a magnet closure, it irritates me everytime i pull it off to putt.

Any recent discoveries/favorites for covers that fit the 5.5?  Currently using the Amazon one referenced earlier.  Looking for magnetic closure and a snug fit.  Seems like some of the companies are one or the other.

 

Anyone tried a Seamus mallet yet?
