Got to the range today with the 7w and ventus red 9x. All I can say is what an awesome club and shaft!

Any more thoughts on how you’re liking it? In terms of versatility, can you work the ball and flight it down as well?

I was able to get out on the course for the first time this year today. I can definitely see this club being a keeper and will probably knock my 3 iron out of the bag or possibly gap my wedges to go from 4 to 3 wedges.

I’ll report back tomorrow on its workability left/right and down, should be a nice day to get some more practice in. The normal ball flight is piercing and high. Turf interaction is great, it takes these tiny divots. And it’s definitely more forgiving than my 3iron. Toe strikes that felt like they would draw a good bit turned out to go very straight with a slight draw

Agreed... I searched a good while until I got lucky with the OG BB 93x on the cheap.

You can order the VENTUS Red 9x from Peoples....legend has it if you tip trim it 2" it is a copy paste of the old ROMBAX P95.

The natural shot it wants to hit is high, flat and soft landing. It is very workable though, both ways and up and down. I've had mine for a couple months now and it's already pushing into the best fairway wood I've ever had territory. No issues off of the tee and easy as can be off the fairway. I play mine tipped 2" and at 41.5"

The would be really interesting if the P95 and Ventus Red were that similar since the Ventus Red is also extremely similar to the Kuro Kage XT/XTS in terms of profile, and both McIlroy and Scott are notable P95 and XTS users.

Ventus red is quite a bit stiffer in the handle than P95 and XT/XTS. It’s almost the same mid and tip though to XT/XTS

Fuji's product description states that the Ventus Red is super stiff in the handle, but neither the Fit2Score profiles nor their own EI profile image supports that. It only reads as marginally stiffer in the handle and slightly softer in the mid than your typical "White" profile.

Although very workable left and right as well as down, it’s nowhere close to the capabilities of a 3iron. You aren’t hitting low stingers with it off the tee on a windy day.

with that in mind, I got it to do the exact opposite of a 3 iron, height, soft landings, and forgiveness.

If you asked me a year or so ago if I would ever have even one Titleist wood in my bag. I would have said no... The 7 wood is my fav club at the moment. As others have said, your not hitting stingers off the tee with it. Unless you have incredible hands. But that is why I have the 4 utility as well.

Is that the '& wood' in your signature? lol

I actually just picked up a GAPR Lo 4i as well, putting it together later this week.

And I'm in the same boat with Titleist woods. Prior to finding one on clearance that I couldnt pass up forcing me to try and bag it - I now have the 3W and 7W in the bag.

Yes, any of our dealers actually can special order a Red 9-X from us including The Peoples Clubs. We don't have many as their in our tour-only inventory. Its EI profile is similar to the Rombax P95 X but Ventus is much improved performance-wise.

Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott, Brenden Steele, Vaughn Taylor, Tommy Fleetwood just to name a few have a 7 wood in the bag.

Might check WITB of each.  Tommy F carried a 21' in 2020, but didn't last that long, and not this year.  He's got TaylorMade SIM2 Rocket (3, 13.5°, Diamana DF 70TX shaft); TaylorMade SIM2 (5, 18.5°, Diamana DF 80TX shaft)

A player has to have a certain type of swing and or course to benefit from 7wd or 9wd.
