Not sure I agree with that. Amongst the biggest victims of scams(advertising of a sort) are lower people with lots of experience.

Its not just the claims of the golf industry. Virtually every review by posters on this site has the club, ball tested being longer/more accurate/more consistent than the same model of the previous year. How much longer, more controllable is the latest generation of the PV1/TP5, etc than the first generations according to user reviews in the ball section here.

Regarding the Sqairz golf shoes back in 2005 Padraig Harrington wore shoes that were also guaranteed to provide more distance.

You do have a point. But, that's why I use the word "usually" when describing the tempering influence of age and experience. There are some people who perhaps never become less gullible. Others might become more gullible over time. 

 

For those somewhere in the middle, perhaps we are dealing with a "parabolic curve of stupidity" - gullible when young, gullible when old, less gullible in those middle years?

I would like to try one out just to see how bad it really is, or at least see someone else hit one. I have never seen one in person but it does have that  proprietary "flat sword shaped shaft":

Ridiculous haha, wasn't there just a problem recently where driver faces were actually getting hotter over time and making them non-conforming after a while?

Humble brag, but I have seen a Hammer in play.  It was in a scramble, and the guy couldn't play a lick.  He was neither long nor straight, and I mean really, really not straight.  Nothing else in the bag worked either, so maybe the Hammer infected the other clubs?

I was just listening to a PXG commercial, and have never really liked them. Maybe it's the in-your-face guy half yelling PXG reasons to purchase their stuff. One comment that bugged me was the guy, for some reason, saying 'ignore the haters'. Really? Who is hating their clubs? I mean, I think they are actually, probably, some pretty good clubs, but I don't think I would ever buy them because they are a bit expensive for my taste. But does that mean I am a "hater"?

He is easy to hate.  Pirated engineers from Ping.  Made an almost exact copy of a Ping iron and put a few screws in the back.  And he's an obnoxious loudmouth.  Will never get a dime from me.
