I went to the Scottsdale location this afternoon to check out some putters. Surprisingly, the Battle Ready heads were fairly limited. I didn't see the Gunboat, Blackbird, Closer etc,. I didn't mind as they had the heads I wanted to checkout, but others might've been disappointed.

Long story short, my testing came down down to the Black Jack and One & Done. In the end I purchase the One & Done as aim was stupid simple. While there is a lot going on, my eyes centered on the traditional fang lines and the ball disappeared until I chose to use it. Additionally, I preferred both the sound and feel. I found the Black Jack to be fairly muted.

Regarding sound and feel, every model I tested was unique. No two models felt or sounded similar. In general, which is expected, the heavier the putter the more muted it became. One aspect I really appreciated was the sound and feel was consistent within a specific model. For example, an off center strike didn't result in a different pitch or materially different feel.

Last point, the fitter confirmed they are shipping chrome shafts only.

I’ve seen that about the chrome shafts in a couple of places. My br bat attack was built June 4th or 5th and I received it June 9th. It came with the true temper blacked out shaft. I was surprised. Hopefully it’ll hold up or I’ll do something different.

355-365 so may need to hunt down lighter weights we shall see haha

Took a chance on the closer in a tournament round. Probably cost me. 11 fwys and 13 greens. 32 putts. Lost the tournament by a shot.

Basically made 1 putt...a 15 footer on 9 for birdie.

Missed from 15 feet on 1

Missed from 12 feet on 2

Missed from 10 feet on 5

Missed from 4 feet on 8

Missed from.12 feet on 14

3 putted 15. Tough 2 putt but missed from 7 feet to 3putt

Missed from 7 feet on 16

Operator back in the bag and won't be coming out.

Man that’s tough. So hard to beat the stability and ease of lining up with it. Looks like Kyle Westmoreland is rolling his Operator pretty darn well in the US OPEN right now!

Yep. That was the biggest thing today. If just 2 of those putts fall then I win. Closer wasn't bad. Just feel like operator would have been the difference today. So, tried it, but operator is my boy!

Sold my double bend One and Done as the neck didn’t work for me. Deciding on which mallet to go with now, with a plumbers neck. PXG has the best option for mallets and a plumbers neck. Not a whole lot out there from the other guys as I spent all night looking last night 😂

Except the blackbird, I've rolled all their mallets with a plumbers neck hosel on each one. Glad to offer up my thoughts if you want.

Ill probably end up with the one and done again as I loved the alignment. The double bend just didn’t work for me. The gunboat has my eye too. Is there a big feel difference between the battle ready and gen 2 stuff? I didn’t love the feel (didn’t hate it either) of the one and done I had until I put a stability shaft in it.

The feel off the face is the same between the gen2 and br models.

I’m picking up my One and Done today, and have a Stability Tour shaft on my workbench. Can you share your thoughts on the combo? How did it change the feel? Did you notice a weight difference? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

My experience with the combo was really good, aside from the double bend not really fitting me. I didn’t notice any different in weight. The feel of the PXG stuff is a little on the clicky or firm side to me. It’s not a bad feel at all, just a little harder than I prefer. When I put the Stability shaft in it made it a touch softer feeling and more solid or dense is the best way I can describe it. It’s not anywhere near a super soft milling or insert.

I’m liking my Closer, BUT! I'm blowing everything past the hole and through the break. Is face really hot or just too heavy?

What were you using before? If you were using a putter with an insert then you just need to adapt to the face. It's a milled face. Hotter than any insert putter.

Also....play less break...lol

I have the Mini Gunboat H and the putter is great. Sets up well, has toe hang, great feel on shorter putts … but long putts are tough due to the face absorbing so much energy.

Driver: Ping G410 LST (Diamana ZF)
5w:  Titleist TS2 (Ventus Blue)
3H: Titleist 818 H2 (Ventus Blue HB)
or 3i: Cobra King Utility 21* (Tour AD DI)
4-P: PXG 0311T (KBS $-Taper)
Wedges: 51* Edel TRP, 55* Edel DVR, 60* Cally MD5
Putter: PXG Mini Gunboat H

Interesting. It's a steel milled face so it shouldn't be any hotter than a scotty. Could it be promoting better roll, right away, compared to the scottys?

I’ve always been a good putter.  It does roll really good, I’m guessing it must be the weight?

have you been able to compare Blackjack and Bat Attack BR? When do you think ?

Unfortunately no. The bat attack was late to get to fitters so I never got to see it or roll it.

Only way I will is if it turns up on a used rack locally. I'm done buying, trying, and selling putters.
