I ordered my 225s two weeks ago.  Have your club call your rep.  They are taking orders for first day delivery if they can.  A good mizuno rep can.

I have a fitting scheduled for 1/22. Do you think demo heads will be available at true spec. Don’t need a fitting but 50% off for Black Friday was hard to pass up.

fitting 12/22 🙂, I’m coming from TM P770/P790 combo but with the wrong shaft specs for my swing…

oh that sounds also really nice, where did you make the break? I just remember to the interview with Chris Voshall that he was mentioning it’s not necessary to blend the sets due to the fact that every line is designed for a

specific type of player!

I think this is a GREAT call. If the tech in the 223 is only in the 6(or 7) up, there really is almost no reason to go 223 over 225 in the long irons besides maybe loft.

- I haven't noticed a change in "feel" between slotted and non-slotted irons. Flows very well, no different sound that I can pick up on. No T200 vibes here 😉

- I shot some comparison pics below, i think they flow quite well.

- On the handicap: It all depends how good you are with irons. I have a friend who is a 13 hcp and he can easily play players CB irons because he strikes the irons really well - but looses balls with the driver on 4 or 5 holes a round. I've also played with 3 hcps who have great short games but strike their irons worse than me. If you are a decent iron player, you should have no issues. It also depends if smaller club head intimidate you or focus you - i.e. I like to look at something smaller, others like to see more "chunk"

Unfortunately I have also to consider a   seniorflex shaft as I’m not the fastest… (74 mph / 7 iron on average) …

My club has a Mizuno demo day this Saturday. I'm curious if they will have these irons available to try?

 

I'm play MP 20 MMCs and have zero reason to make a change, but ya know. 

 

I'm a 2 hcp currently, but definitely don't want a full set of true blades. I'm hoping they will have these Saturday to try. 

 

I'm also curious about trying their latest driver line against my ST190. 

 

I'll post a report on my findings

Good stuff. Thanks for posting. These are good numbers for the Mizuno and it looks great compared to the others. Look and performance of the PXG are good, but I'll never go near that brand.

 

I'm coming from MP20 blades and would like something more forgiving and that can knock down my very high spin numbers. The HMB was too chunky for me, but the 225s are definitely in the mix. Much slimmer but still with a lot of pop. Will probably do some kind of blended set in the end, but the 225s are much more intriguing to me than the HMBs were.

FYI: lofts of those 7i clubs above are

30 - 225

28 - 0211 DC

31 - T200 

30.5 - P790 

 

I'd discount the PXG from those results based purely on it is 6i loft, not a 7i loft like the other 3.

 

The 225 7i is quite low spin and lots of rollout in comparison to the other remaining 3 irons.  It's peak height is also low, so shallow descent and explains the long rollout.

 

I happen to have the latest T200 and really like the added height, distance, and steeper descent angle for me and my slower SS.

 

The P790 has some really good numbers for my game -> great distance, good enough spin, good peak height, and short roll-out.  I haven't gamed, let alone considered, a TM iron in a very long time -> might be worth a look me for me.

 

All that said, I am a Mizuno fan-boy and will be ordering a set.  Based on the other thread, I was thinking 221 7-PW and 225 5-6i, but will probably go all 223.  Or maybe 221 7-PW and 5-6i 223.   I'll wait until some more user reviews start coming in.  👍
