I think the two clubs that actually DO impact my scores are driver and wedge.

But you are right, KSiG wedges will perform just fine for nearly everyone.

Playing the long game on that quote!

Costco wedges.
They take the hard work that real golf companies do in research and development to China and say make it as cheaply as you can. They stick the Kirkland name on it (as well as toilet paper, steak spice and multi vitamins) and wait for bored sheep to shove them in the cart full of crap.
I would be embarrassed to put them in my bag. Have some respect for what Vokey and Cleveland (real people) and many others do for a living. Buy real clubs.

Acushnet had a net profit of over a Billion dollars last year so I think they and other “real club” conpanies are doing just fine

My son (age 14) has outgrown the starter set I bought for him--it was ultralight graphite, likely senior flex, from an elderly gentleman who was too old to play the game. Last weekend at the range my son was having issues with contact and I had him try my 7i and he started hitting it massively better, so he's now got my old set of irons.

Going to get him a set of KS wedges for his 8th grade graduation next week.

Wish Kirkland made a driver; he now needs a new one of those too lol...

Pretty sure they use DS S200 shafts. But could be wrong

Don't think so.  They are a little lighter for one thing.  Most likely some Chinese made generic shaft...which isn't intended as a put down.  Stepped shafts aren't exactly rocket science.

After reading the good reviews of these wedges, I picked up a set in the spring and games them for the summer. TL;DR…excellent value if you don’t mind the complete absence of any ability to customize.

Full shots…compared to my 20 y/o Vokeys, the feel was solid. Full and partial shots, if struck well, produced great results. Forgiveness seemed on par with a blade wedge…just average. Spin was very good. Distance consistency was also good. The 52° with its 8° bounce was best for me, but I struggled with the chunkier soles  and 10° bounce in the 56° and 60° on full and partial shots, occasionally skulling partial shots.

Chipping…solid and predictable results. Feel was good. Laying the 56° and 60° just slightly open helped them glide through green side rough with ease.

Bunkers…fine, but nothing to write home about.

Flop shots…doesn’t seem to be any heel relief, so unless you have a fluffy lie, don’t bother.

Durability…not ideal. After ~ 10 rounds (and very few bunker trips), the wedges had several noticeable nicks and scratches.

Misc…heard a horror story from a local club builder who was asked to bend a Kirkland wedge a couple of degrees. Said he totaled the club before reaching 1°! Some folks say they’re bendable, so YMMV.

Ultimately I returned the wedges and decided to pony up for more customizable alternatives.

Listen man...i dont know where you have been but the golf industry sold out to China a long time ago. Their chickens have come home to roost.

Other than Ping, i dont think anyone even has the capability to manufacture clubs here any more.

Was thinking the same thing. I also don't think Costco brand clubs are really dipping into the Vokey market. If anything it's helping get decent clubs to more people.

If they were available in LH I would buy a set of these immediately.  However, as in most cases with DTC or OEM clubs, LH is unavailable.  I have owned Vokey Sm6, MIzuno S18, and Maltby LE forged wedges all in 56 and 60 degree low bounce configurations.  In the PNW the sand conditions are firm so low bounce works best for me.  In all honesty, the Maltby LE forged wedges @ $35/head are a steel steal.  I can change them frequently in my Modus 105S shafts and don't feel bad about it.  It's easy to adjust loft and lie too.  Definitely recommend giving them a try if you swing from the sinister side.

I wonder why they stuck with the 52/56/60 gapping.  With the target market they are looking for, and most likely the irons they are coming out with that would likely be players distance or game improvement, you'd think they'd go for something more along the lines of 50/54/58 or even 48/54/60.

I don't know that many people that use a 52 degree gap wedge.  Most people's PW these days are 43-45 degrees.

I recently bought a Maltby TSW DRM 50* wedge for gapping.  They don't have a 48* in any of the wedges.  With a 43* PW, ideally, a 48* gap wedge would be perfect to gap the 52*

Beyond that Kirkland wedges don't even look like Titleist. If anything I'd say it's a bit more mizuno'ish. At the end of the day though they all copy from each other. Wedges have been around a long time to the point nothing is truly original any more.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
