My Daughter wears that hat! Got her Bachelors in education, taught for two years, went back and got her Masters in Safety Science.

 

4 job changes later, she's tripled her salary in 3 years. Her goal was to be making 6 figures before she turned 30. Mission accomplished.

Good luck to her.  It is wearing me down personally.  I love the environmental side of it, very engineering intensive, or it can be,  The safety side is more people focused and deals in behaviors.  I am not a people person so I struggle with some of the safety items I am tasked with.  Building buy in is one such thing.  I would rather present you incontrovertible evidence and data than to have to convince you through cajoling to get you to do the right thing.

 

It also seems that the people who are involved in incidents are rarely held at fault and I have to devise root cause and root cause countermeasures to their actions.  I am trying hard to dummy proof stuff but I have a tendency to underestimate dummies' ingenuity to find ways to get into trouble.

Retired now.  Was the business unit manager for CT and MRI at a couple of diagnostic imaging companies.

 

After retirement I hooked up with some folks at the local medical school to help market DNA editing of lab rats to research institutions.  Was shocked to learn how expensive those little suckers could get.

Semi-retired.  Currently the Assistant Superintendent for a private club.  Prior to that, I spent over 30 years as a caddie on just about every tour out there.  Most of my time was on the LPGA and LET.  I had a reputation for being able to handle diva attitudes early in their careers and that ended up being my gig as I bounced from player to player at an agent's request.  

 

Now I advise a 38 year old Super that has a PhD in Agronomy/Horticulture but knows nothing about golf and manage the course expectations of a bunch of 7-8 figure members. 

 

So basically, still in the diva business.

Tell me about it!  I'm a front-line soldier in the war against Covid and you could say my pay is almost laughable.  I should be making over $100 an hour.  I literally put my life on the line every day I go to work.  Radiology technologists are pretty much the red-headed stepchildren in every hospital.  Yet we are essential to diagnosing almost every patient that comes in and in nearly every orthopaedic surgery that gets performed, as well as many general and vascular procedures.  Almost nothing could get done in the hospital without us, yet we get paid very little compared to nurses.  We should go on strike.  Too bad we're not union.
