Well.... despite the detractors I have to say that Evian is my favourite tournament of the year, and my favourite course as well. Stunning scenery, and weather has been excellent in July. I think of Evian as the women's Masters. 

 

What an exciting tournament - best yet this year!!

I've always enjoyed the tournament. It's been snake bit by the scheduling and weather, but it's a solid test. Similar to Lake Merced.

a) what fruit was minjee munching on?  and what were the others eating -- hyo joo/sandwich, ingee ?(you should know!) 

b) what lydia and the rest were chatting about while waiting for minjee/lee6 duke it out in the first playoff hole?

c) who poured the champagne?  looked like lydia right?  ingee poured water?  and what did hyo joo pour?  (on minjee of course)

i guessed mango LOL... but i doubt its that easy to find it there/here... sg yes, but not europe i think... plus too messy with the seed... but it looked quite yellow hence the mango guess... plus dried mangoes wouldve worked better on the course LOL...

 

btw i also thought durian... but she wouldve been banned off the course for causing a stink!!!

Disappointing for Lee6 not to come out as the victor after controlling proceedings for the majority of the week but Minjee put on an very professional display in that final round. Very entertaining championship with some good stories to come out of it.

Watching LPGA events leads me to realise that maybe with the odd exception, women are better humans than men.

When you attend events....you can see that the majority of the women are very engaging and approachable with the fans vs. the guys.

The gals know they need to sell their tour and how to treat their customers properly.

 

Congrats to Minjee.....her putting can be suspect...but she made the putts when they counted.

MinJee has a younger brother Min Woo who plays on the European Tour.  He won the Scottish Open.  Congrats to MinJee wow what a gutsy final round and win.

That shot into the water...IMO...was all nerves.

Minjee set the tone with her shot.

 

If you gave 15 shots to Lucky 6 on a Thurs/Fri rd or a casual rd....it would be so rare to think she'd thin and rinse a shot into the water.

Yealimi was in near tears in her interview.

 

After watching Lydia's approach on 18 from the rough...I thought Noh would go for the green...must have been a really bad lie.

I bet if there was no water....Noh would have gone for the green.

 

Noh missed some makeable putts coming home.

As J. Miller says....most golfers miss a putt to the right when it counts....Noh seemed to decel on her last putt.

 

Thitikul's putting looked a bit suspect today too.

 

Lydia's putter was also a bit cool today.....she'd need to improve her proximity to the hole today.

Her tee tee shots continue to be a bit too loose.
