Obviously this my opinion, but her youth is likely the culprit causing the nerves. Lack of experience due to being 19.

LOL, yeah, can't have it both ways... something has to give... I think the forum/LPGA board went into this "debate" a few weeks ago - was it on Rose Zhang or thereabouts...  

 

also the reason why I empathize(d) with Minjee today -- it's not easy to win, let alone a major, even if some Golfwrx'ers wont consider Evian a "major"

^ on my comment above - something has to give on "age" - hard to have wisdom and "be fearless" when young... hard to have both experience and mental fortitude at the same time when you're still a "teen" ager...

Minjee's caddie had a loaf of bread in a brown bag, and he tore off a piece and gave it to Hyo Joo. I'd say it was a sub sandwich. 

 

Whatever Minjee was eating, it was red inside with a yellow outer layer. I'm guessing it was some type of passion fruit.

A loaf of bread?!  No wonder the 4 other major winners waiting for Minjee then in a picnic atmosphere / picnic poses in the rough/grounds prior to Minjee winning it on the playoff hole eg ALK, HJK, Ingee and Lydia -  all of them animatedly talking with Lydia leading them all --  all in Korean linggo that I couldn't understand LOL)  -- that loaf of bread could multiply and feed all LOL...

I have it on good authority Minjee was eating the disparaged souls of all her nay-sayers in the golf world.  She told me their tears were delicious.  Congrats to Minjee on a well-deserved win in an otherwise ho-hum year for her.

 

I didn't catch the whole tournament - out of town for work - but man, did you see the dart In Gee struck on what, 17 or 18?  Can't remember which hole but I nearly choked on my beer when I saw that. Also props to Lyds for showing everyone how to eagle 18.

I was assuming that since they were in France it was just a baguette.  

 

Too bad for Six that it ended that way, she really showed some grit on that back nine.  All in all a very enjoyable tournament to watch, though I have to say that I'm pretty sick of those CNBC ads.

Great win for Minjee!  Her and SYR have been my two favorite players over the last 5 years or so.  Thought both of their games were sliding a bit but at least one of them turned it around!  Will be interesting to see if this propels Minjee forward at all or if it's basically the same; very very good player, not the best in tight situations (obviously didn't apply today).

 

Despite the above, I was kind of cheering for Lee6.  She could have joined the massive current group with 2 majors and she would have still had good years ahead.  Hard to say how she will respond to this.  One thing of note, she got tight down the stretch at the 2019 USWO when the tournament was hers.  Fortunately, she was able to hang on / no one caught her.  I can't recall other times she's been close but I guess even the very very good players feel the pressure in certain situations.

Had Lee6 made 18 pars I probably would have been pulling for Minjee in a big way.  But given Lee6 resilience it was hard not to want to see her pull it off.  In the end, the far better round of the day took the trophy, which probably isn't too bad in a situation like this.

It is an example of the obsession the commentators have with several subjects that every round they trot out time and time again. The other obvious one is the Brooke/Brittany rubbish eg Stupples in R2 "they are almost as one".

 

I have a plan to end the commentators obsession with B/B but it will take Brooke to be paired with a certain golfer at some stage. I won't reveal who that certain golfer is but when it does happen the Brooke/Brittany axis of evil commentator obsession could be ended and it would make great viewing.

 

BTW it's nothing weird if you think the above reads a little strange.
