Interesting that two of the rookies are in the same pod.  Somehow I dont see Lexi in the mother hen role so maybe the rookies are playing together.

Speaking of Lexi I don't see the US winning if she goes 0-2-2 again.  Does the rise of Nelly take pressure off of her?  Or is she in a post-USO funk.  This team needs an emotional leader, not necessarily rah-rah, but someone that plays with an intensity ("lets kick some a**") a la Suzanne, and I think she can do that.

I live within a couple of hours and will attend on Saturday, at least until the college football starts.

Other than captain's picks, the most important job for any captain is the allocation of playing times.

There're a total of 16 team events with 2 players each for a total of 32 playing slots.  Given that there're 12 players, the average playing opportunity is 2-2/3 out of 4.

Who will be playing two times and who will play three or four times will determine the outcome of the tournament.

I also don't see Lexi as a 'leader'.

Have fun on Sat

Or who simply plays well.

As much as I don't like Crusty....I'm surprised Hurst couldn't talk Kerr to be one of the asst. captains to replace Stanford...Angela does have a great SC record.

Kerr could light up the team and get in their faces if they get in a slump.

Kerr would definitely be a badazz in the team room.  Still trying to figure out if pods are like minded/personality groups and assistants or balance of personalities.  Hard to tell a bit from the list.  BTW....Which pod would you punish...errr, I mean grace with her Kerrness? 🤣

Indeed, it isn't obvious how the pods were chosen.

I don't know about personalities; but Mina and Yealimi are polar opposite in age and experiences.

The European team just won the Junior Solheim Cup 😀. The first time since 2007. The first win on American soil,

I've been concerned about the competitiveness of American junior players.  Alexa Pano showed promises as a 13-14 years old but hasn't done nothing as a 16-17 years old.  Amari Avery is powerful but little finesse.  Megha Ganne is always wild.

I'm also concerned about Rose Zhang and Rachel Heck; that they may have already peaked as golfers.

I'm not buying into all this personality test nonsense to get like personality pods.

Sometimes opposites .....team well to create a balance.

If Hurst really knows her players she along with discussions with her asst capts and players they should be able to discuss who will team up well in selecting pods.

I'd replace Stanford with Wie and put Kerr (replacing Wie) into the last pod.

I'm not crazy about Wie as a leader...she's there for 'visibilty".

But I looked at the list of veteran players as another asst captains.

I think Christina Kim is too much drama...so no.

Maybe Creamer....possibly Gulbis???

I don't know how many months pregnant Creamer is?

Peaked? As Mark Twain said, "The report of my death was premature."

OK, there are plenty of high ranked amateurs that don't quite cut it professionally. Kristen Gillman comes to mind. A two time U.S. Amateur winner, and college standout, she hasn't quite set the LPGA on fire.

OTOH, Danielle Kang won back to back amateur championships, and slowly climbed into the World's Top 10.

Too early to write them off. Rose ran out of gas at the USWA after playing at the Evian, and she did manage to win the Girl's Junior. Oh, and she managed to go undefeated at the Curtis Cup.

Rachel should have advanced to the USWA finals, but for some odd reason conceded a putt late that she shouldn't have. Still, not a bad stretch over the past year. Yeah, she underperformed at the Curtis, but I believe things are still on the right track.

Seems like the pod announcements more or less give away the pairings.  Team Jelly, Kang and her close friend Salas, Lexi and Britt Alto.  I suppose Lexi isn't a lock, but I think she's far more likely to play with Altomare than either of the rookies.  I also think the rooks will sit.

Also, absolutely this.  Rose and Rachel had outstanding summers.  They are both solid, well-rounded players.  That is no guarantee of success, of course, but it sure doesn't hurt.  I wouldn't bet against either one of them when it comes to accomplishing great things in golf ... IF that's what they decide they want.  With Rachel in particular I could see her choosing some other path in life.

Thought I posted this yesterday but Oh well:    Beautiful day Wed. in Toledo, just arrived. Friends who attended Wed. (their first professional golf event ever) had a wonderful experience! They purchased hat, shirts, etc., and not knowing better purchased Euro-wear! Hey, they bought what they liked! Talking about going to Spain two years.

Magic:

Have a great week fangirling.

Hmmm...WTH....I thought you are cheering for the Euros....I assume you are the one in the middle?

You are dressed in red, white & blue....what gives?

LUV the one piece navy golf dress...very stylish.

LUV the red, white & blue garter.

I assume you are saving the knee highs for tomorrow?🤣

I believe LPGA fans are male dominated

BUT

When it comes to the Solheim....I believe it brings out more female fans and a BIG EXCUSE for a Chick Road trip to misbehave, giggle, gossip and drink CHEAP wine and not necessarily in that order.

I think @Kaysquare went on a gal pal trip to Colorado in 2013???

BTW

When are you going to fangirl and chat up Man Bun?

I think if you bat you eyelashes at him...he'll give you some Solheim SWAG.😂

Ole Ole!

Yes, and you can't really tell from the pic but one of my necklaces is sporting the Finn flag on one side and "Proud to be Finnish" on the other. BTW, it's the first Solheim I've attended where I've heard zero Ole Ole chants so far. Makes me sad. Today, no Solheim. Husband wants to head to Michigan to see an aged aunt. (Me thinks it's just a ruse to purchase illicit product not available in Ohio 👿.) Consequently, I have 2 Meijer Pav tix if anybody wants them! Value: $200. Watching Opening Ceremonies on TV later, cocktail in hand. 🍸🇺🇸

Yes, I did go on a gal trip to Colorado for the 2013 Solheim...it was dreadfully hot and the course was not fan-friendly at all, AND we lost.  But we did do all that other stuff you mentioned.  Will not travel this year....anywhere.
