Biggest driving iron without much offset

Looking for ideas about what the biggest most forgiving DI out there is without big offset? I've tried G400 crossover and ZU65 but both have too much offset for me

 

P790 udi and U500 are a bit slim for my liking.

 

Maybe Gapr mid could be an option?

 

Does this thing exist or are all the larger headed options high offset models?

Check out the Srixon ZX utility iron. I picked up the 3 iron (20*) a couple months ago and it was above and beyond better than anything else I tried. Plus it’s one of few options that is a forged head. Very forgiving, great feel, and not much offset. Speaking of feel, go hit this club next to other utility irons and you will immediately notice how big of a difference the forged head makes in this club. They also do a good job at hiding the “chunkyness” in the back so it looks very clean and sleek at address. My only gripe is that it comes with the Recoil shaft, but at only $219 MSRP it is cheaper than most other options so you may have a bit left in your budget to find a new shaft (unless you like the Recoil shaft then by all means keep it - it’s a great shaft that fits some). I can post pictures later when i’m home if you would like.

Agree on the ZX above. I hit the recoil too high. Peoples Golf just installed a 105 MMT Utility.

Get a utility you otherwise like in a loft a few degrees lower than you ultimately want and have it bent a few degrees weak?

SIM DHY has very little offset and is definitely on the bigger side. Maybe even too big for your liking? It's basically the replacement for GAPR Mid without adjustability but with much improved looks and feel.

U510 is as big and forgiving as it gets. Offset is not minimal but less than the Crossover for sure

Might try dig out a GAPR mid to give a whirl - sounds like a good compromise without the price tag of the Sim or others.

An alternative to the Gapr mid is the Adams DHY

 

The Gapr mid and Taylormade DHY are based on the Adams DHY 

 

The Tour Edge CBX ironwood or Tour Edge Utility ti is an option worth considering as well.

The New Level NLU-01 might be a good option. They removed a lot of offset compared to their first utility (4995HB). Fantastic feel too.

GAPR is money. Like it better than both the Srixon and the Titleist for my game. I think it's quite an underrated club. Can be found new old stock for $100 or less.

Wilson staff Utility iron.  Very minimal offset, its a bomber.  Will not be kicked out of my bag for a while.

You might look at the Tour Edge Exotics

C721 and E721 irons. These have hollow

heads with VIBRACOR fill.

 

C721 has 3i at 19* and 4i at 21* // E721 has 4i at 19*.

Shaft offerings in graphite are KBS TGI and PX HZRDUS

Smoke; steel is Elevate.

4i @ 19° !! What is the world coming to? In my day, 4i was 24°. Still is in my bag (I bend em weak.)

I play the Titleist U500 4i/23 (bent to 24). Seems pretty big with a little more offset than I'd like, but still fits nicely into a blade bag. Goes like a high flat bullet (X7 in it). That hollow head is cheating, but sure nice to be able to stripe a fairway w/ confidence, and not much shorter than my hybrid. Maybe give that one a second look?

Srixon ZX5 3 and 4 irons should do the trick and are a little cheaper too.

Mizuno Pro Fli-Hi 16.5* bent to 18* would pretty much take out most of the offset.

You’ll probably laugh.  But. Gapr Lo to me is the best driving iron I’ve ever hit .  The callaway x forged 21 model is the next or equal.

Agreed on the Callaway X Forged 21.  It has a really nice shape and very minimal offset.  The zx utility might be the most forgiving with the least amount offset that I’ve seen.

Hit it and its awesome, that was at a golf store.  Finally got mine delivered, but haven't had a chance to try it yet though.
