No. Nike just doesn't want to make this shoe. Nike makes soft bouncy foam/air shoes that look like sneakers. This is a firm dress shoe. Nike doesn't make firm dress shoes.

They don’t even have a new TW shoe for the public. His model is years old now.

The first time wearing them, it made sense. This much time goes by and it’s quite wild they haven’t done anything.  I mean, maybe they have been trying all this time but to not have him in something Nike by now is wild to me.

I am wondering the same thing?  It’s been kind of a hush hush thing.  You’d think if Nike was serious about getting TW in a current shoe it would be a done deal by now…

I have asked a couple of my friends who work at HQ and they have no updates. The Golf team is very small there though.

Yeah, kind of wondering if maybe they want to phase out some of the golf contracts or something?  I would think that taking care of TW would be top priority?

When asked about his contracts, Tiger has always said he can play what he wants. I assume this translates to footwear as well.

 

And honestly, with the exception of us golf nerds here, most people would never notice or even care what shoes he's wearing. Tiger and Nike are an affiliation that transcends golf.

Anyone find this Greyson marketing email interesting with TW in the background?  Someone else mentioned a rumor that Tiger may invest in Greyson down the road.  I didn’t believe it and still don’t, but I found this email interesting…

I don't think tiger can invest in a venture that completes with Nike. I think this is more greyson getting him in a photo with Justin because it attracts way more attention than just a photo of Justin.

I guess it will depend ultimately on how his contract is written.  Just find it interesting that Greyson has Tiger and his TW hat in the ad.  You’d think they would block that out and only include JT.

I could see Tiger moving away from the Swoosh and getting an equity deal in place with someone like Greyson. I would like to see Tiger in Castore, their products are top notch.

I called this a while back in the thread...His commitment with the swoosh is over...If they won't pay him, he'll leave... Won't be the first or last golf great to do something like this...

Nike have had plenty of time to make something for him. The fact that they haven’t speaks volumes. Either the don’t feel the market segment is big enough for them to pursue, or they only want to produce athletic styles.

I’d like to see TW go somewhere else at this point.  In my opinion, Nike has been going downhill for years now and the golf gear keeps looking worse each year imho.  TW with a Greyson line along with fresh FJTWs would be sweet!!

Not to change the subject much of topic but tiger made most his fortune off sponsors and mostly nike.  At what point is JT gonna capture a deal like that in his career.   He's gotta be close to peak but mannnn his fortune needs to come via sponsors asap.  It isn't gonna be made on the course.  PS - I'm sure he ain't broke but tiger is worth 1 billion and made most his money in the 2000s when the dollar wasn't what it is today
