I just played SM8s for the last 2 seasons.  I have played a few rounds with the S23s and I can say they are more forgiving and much much better feeling.  Toe shots into the green(my miss) still get there whereas I was a bit short with the SM8s.  The feel off the club with a good ball is unreal soft as well.

Nice. Have you ever tested glide4?

I have a couple rounds in with the S23s as well. I too can attest how crazy forgiving and easy they are to hit. I also subconsciously have more confidence knowing that I can aim in the middle of the club face with the sweet spot and CG location being in the middle vs. the heel on other wedges including Vokeys. In terms of feel comparisons, I think both irons feel good in their own way. Vokeys have a nice crisp feeling and sound, while the S23 is more of a soft thud/muted (not mushy) sound.

Had my fitting and didn’t go for the s23 in the end, stuck with Vokeys. They are very nice clubs though, could have gone with them but going lower bounce, different grinds and and 2 flat in similar vokeys gave me better results, also fitting showed my miss is more heel than toe anyway which may be why the vokeys worked out best.

For those who game mizuno wedges, do you have a hard time with the club number not being on the sole? esp like in sunday bags where the irons tend to have less room?

Yes.  T-22's

I ended up putting white electrical tape around the hosel on my 54 to be able to tell it apart from my 58 at a glance.

I didn’t think it would be a problem with my T-22s but am now considering putting a different color ferrule on each one.

I just bought a set as well. I always buy chrome coloured wedges but as a lefty, only copper available. Leave it to mizuno the one year I like a wedge they make is the only year they make it in non chrome.

I am coming from glide 3.0. I bought glide 4s last year but I didn't keep them in the bag for long so let's see if this mizuno experiment pays off.

Anyone have feedback on shots near the green/bunker with the c grind?

So the website shows you can basically get any loft from 48-60. But when ordering it doesn't seem like you can choose non-standard lofts like 53 on their website. Lots of shaft options too but seems like you're stuck with the stock shaft. Am I missing something on their website to choose different options or is that something I would have to go through a fitter for?

Just put a custom order from any retailers, not their website.

For people who have the d grind in their sand wedges, how is it with full shots? Is it as stable (if right word) as the S grind? Really torn between the two for my 55deg as I want the s grind benefits for full shots but I want to open the club up around the green too. I refuse to carry a lob wedge.

If you refuse to carry a lob wedge I would definitely go D grind in your sand wedge. You don’t want your highest lofted club to be S grind and not have that versatility to open it up when needed.

Does anyone have a pic at address squared up with a ball?  Many of the online pics do not have this.

I’m not sure how I feel about the toe weighting. The face feels like it wants to fall open at address. I haven’t hit any shots yet so not sure how it’ll impact my swing.

Anyone else feel the same or is it just me?

I haven’t hit the Mizuno yet, but I have experienced that with all high toe designs. In my hands the extra toe weight feels odd and unbalanced during the swing too. In fact I traded in a set of Cleveland’s for T22s and haven’t looked back.

I have the 58 D grind and I have been able to hit great shots in all types of lie around the green.  Full shots from 100 and in are also powerful and forgiving off the toe.  Between these wedges and the new Ventus Black Velocore shaft in my driver I feel like I have improved my sticks a ton over the winter.

58 D grind - have a 50 and 54 also. Played various glides, vokeys, milled grind, RTX, even some CBX over the last few years. These are near the top. Excellent forgiveness and consistent distance/dispersion. Indoor at least so far.

I just hit these and they feel great. I’m coming from CBX wedges and these definitely feel softer. I was getting more spin, as well. My contact was toe  side of center and I think the tech was working because I wasn’t losing any distance or direction.

I briefly tried CBX before going with S23. S23 indeed feels softer and spins more for sure. Also, it looks more traditional too. No additional cost for most custom shafts was also a win for me (recoil 95 f4). BTW, isn't the CG of CBX also located on the center? Do you think S23 does better with toe strikes? I just thought CBX could be more forgiving (just because of the look) 🙂
