I got fit for a driver at Dick’s sporting goods a good while ago, just outside Sarasota. A guy name Chet. He looks at me and says you need an m5 TaylorMade driver with an extra stiff shaft. 
I said “I do?” 
he says “yup”…

the rest is history. 

Later I found out he didn’t even work there.

Back in my "swing out of my shoes" days I had that with 12g in each slot.....80x Protopype tipped to length........... Caved the face on that thing

Ah yes, I remember those youthful days when I'd get maybe 6 months out of a driver before caving it in, but never had a set-up quite like that Thor's Hammer you describe.

I could bring it back in the day...........what planet it landed on, that was a different story.

 

An other fav of mine in this video.... OG Cobra X Speed in 7.5* and if I remember correct thats an 80x Cinnamon in there

Superfast 2.0 9.5* still in the bag(white color). This model is from 2011 or 2012. I think it plays at around 47 inches. I have tried many since this Driver came out and nothing beats this. Is the face on this the largest vertical face made? I like that in a driver as I can tee it higher and it goes longer. Any one out there know about any driver that is comparable in vertical size of driver face?

Superfast 2.0 vertical face size is 2.50 inches. Sim2 face size is 2.0 inches. Most all other drivers I have had in hand were 2.0 inches. Any newer drivers out there that might have a 2.50 inch vertical on the face? Thanks

I've had a few over the years. Made a switch to Titleist last year, but I still wish I had my M3.

I had both the r7 and the r7 425, but the best Taylormade driver I’ve ever had was the r7 superquad. Long and straight for me. Stupidly swapped out to an ft-iq which I binned after 6 months. Never been as comfortable with a driver since the superquad left me.

A few years ago I had a M3 440 that I hit extremely well. But of course being a ho I got rid of it thinking I needed more forgiveness. A few weeks ago I came across one in mint condition that I couldn’t resist. Took it out last weekend and remembered why I liked it so much. For some reason for my swing I find it very forgiving, almost shockingly so. It is probably the best driver I’ve ever had that hides my toe miss so well. I hit a couple balls so far off the toe that I almost felt embarrassed, but looked up and they were flying right down the middle.
