I went through dozens of heads, literally, all blades and muscle backs, to get to the black Cobra MBs w/ tungsten inserts. The head shape, weighting, face outline, and near-zero offset are perfect for me. If they can improve on the MBs, I'm all for it, but I can't imagine how.
The copper RF rev33s were almost TOO perfect. I hit them in a bay when I'm at a shop, and there's not a more beautiful head on the planet. But they belong in a museum. Even Rickie stuck with the black MBs til now.

As many pointed out, it would be nice to get a traditional CB/MB back in the line.  The MIM was nice, great shape and nice feel, but the traditionalists are not going to fall in love with a non-forged head.  I also think they would be smart to make a commitment to offering the OL in every iron and hybrid they make for say 5 years.  Really give it a fighting chance to take off.  I am sure there are a lot of people out there who are interested in at least trying the concept but don't want or need a SGI iron.  I think they also missed the boat not offering it in the Forged Tec X this year and sticking with just the FT.  The X fits more players, IMO.  If they offered Forged Tec, Forged Tec X, LTD, and MIM all in one length, it gives the best opportunity for all players to try it out, and allows a player to blend the sets together if they want to and have the forgiveness where they need it.  After all, they are the same length, you are just dealing purely with loft at that point.

Had the Fly Z blades before moving to PXG.  Might go back to Cobra.  So underrated.

I sold all my current irons (except for my P760's they are never leaving) after buying the new forged tecs. They are absolutely amazing. Like my old P790/P770 combos but better in every way.  Also kicked my PXG's out sold them and replaced them with a set of Forged Tec X's as a back up set. They don't feel like the Forged Tecs at all but more clicky P790 like but they were local and cheap.  Cobra is completely under rated and never thought I would own one set let alone 2 sets of their irons.

I'm still going strong on my Fly Z+ Forged. So far they've seen off:

- Srixon Z785

- Srixon ZX5/7

- Mizuno JPX 921

Those look really good. They tick the two important boxes for me: Offset and shape. As long as those two are good, I dont mind a little larger head.

Definitely on my list to try. I agree, offset and shape at address, fit my eye. Hopefully they feel good!

Cobra puts out sneaky good irons.  They will never get cult following, but they do offset as good or better than any other OEM in the player’s cb category.

These do look good.  I almost got the Fly Z+ irons near the end of their run, tried to order a set and they said they were out of heads.  Loved my Fly Z+ driver back then, had a BioCell Pro too.   Maybe if I had got them earlier, I wouldn't have gotten on board the Srixon train.....

My only hurdle buying Cobra is they make me think of a certain older golfer from Australia who used to be the face of the company that I can't stand. Otherwise I love their stuff.

Look at it this way.  He was part of Cobra when they were under Titleist.  The faces and direction of the company has changed since being bought by Puma.  No saying they player selection is better, but at least different.
