The Great Callaway Preowned Deals Thread

Purchase some irons classified as “very good”- anyone able to give me an idea of what to expect for condition? Obviously I haven’t purchased from pro-owned and haven’t received as of yet.

Ive had items come basically new, with 1-2 scratches, and full of scratches. "very good" is a category with lots of room for error IMO.

I ordered the Rogue Pro irons I posted above in very good as well so we'll see.

Took that long to get credit? Doesn’t seem right.

They dont grade clubs.

They dont send them back to you or call you to argue.

The price you get on trade in is the price they issue you.

They apply the trade in to your order and refund it after you send the item in, rather than having to send items in first and wait for the credit.

They will always 100% refund back to your credit card on file within their specified timeframe.

Even if they took 50-60 days, it's still better than all the other online trade-in companies.

I wouldn’t expect them to grade them or call me to argue pricing as their trade value was lower than other online sites. They just happen to have the discontinued irons I wanted to give a go.  I was just questioning the fact his clubs shipped in dec and it’s March before he received his credit/refund. Seems excessive. I assume they are posting the clubs for sales very shortly after they receive them.

YMMV I guess. Their trade values are higher for most items for what I usually trade in.

The timeline of 50-60 days is clearly stated on several parts of the website and is pretty well known at this point.

And no they do not post clubs for sales shortly after. Used clubs usually sit for 6-8 weeks before being reposted on their site - even their own returns that go back into stock.

I admit to not seeing the 55-60 time frame. I read were I had clicked. It is what it is.  In true wrx fashion I wanted to try something different and they had it sssooo…couple bourbons later the hole was dug.

So if anyone was wondering what “very good” clubs look like. Some are almost new and some have some wear:

Top one looks Like New to me. I care about the face, not a scratch on the sole 🙂

I think the high res pictures sometimes make the face look far worse than it is. I have bought all my wedges from BST/Bay and the pics looked mild wear yet when I got the clubs they looked almost new, especially from address.

Yes to both points that’s why I took a pic of those clubs. The top one is a 9i and is pretty much new. The middle is a sand wedge so for all purposes it’s basically very good for a wedge. The bottom is a 7i and it doesn’t look anywhere near that bad with my shop lighting even in hand or at address. Plus I use the whole face of the club as well so I’ll be making my own marks shortly 😂

I know this thread is about CPO and the good deals they offer.  But I just wanted to let folks who may be interested in a Cally UW that I saw several pre owned ones in good condition at my local PGA Super Store  (Natick, MA) today for $149.  Most had the stock shaft but I did see one with a Speeder NX Blue 70 shaft for the same price.

Former demos?  PGASS oftentimes offers some really good prices on their old demo stuff.

That's the misunderstanding, I think. They provide credits and list trade in items as quickly as possible but they both happen at the same time. Unfortunately that "same time" is running a 6-8 weeks after they receive the items.

I supposed they could staff up the trade in department but that would likely come at the expense of trade in value. I'm okay with the wait. As I've mentioned before I just do my CPO transactions using PayPal Credit as a way of segregating them from the rest of my financial life. It's easy to see when the trade credit is applied and then I just pay off the balance. Easy.

Is it usual for entire collections of clubs to vanish literally overnight? This weekend I was looking at the high toe/full face wedges, there were dozens of them in various finishes. The next morning, they’re off the site. I can no longer search by “all wedges” or “all fairway woods” etc, only club families. Not sure if this is a site glitch or a me glitch or intentional.

Hard to say. I do notice that the site doesn't work well on mobile devices.

It happens sometimes but not for no reason.

Callaway just released a new full-face wedge on their main website in the JAWS RAW line so maybe they've disabled it for a little while so people buy the new stuff.

You can call them and a rep can place an order for you for stuff you cant see on the website - theres TONS of inventory they dont show you and you have to call and ask about it.

I've noticed things disappearing for a while and coming back after a sale.  In my case it's been golf balls, catch an all inclusive sale when they have logo over run balls and save big money on good balls.

I would say that if you see a good deal don't wait too long because the site gets a whole lot of traffic.

They are refunding returns as soon as the tracking shows it was delivered back to their warehouse - trades are still taking 50 days.

🦄 Tour Issue only club deal

CPO has bonded hosel Epic Flash Sub Zero fairway woods for a crazy price *I think*. 3 in stock. They are not listed on the public website you have to call Cole at the number below.

The bonded hosel was tour-only back in 2019 when these came out and now its all the rage again since the Paradym is adjustable 😂 go figure. These TC Epic Flash heads STILL go for $150 plus in used beat up condition on ebay.

They are *I think* around $200 each depending on the shaft and Cole can get you 25% off if you call him at 512.617.7131

Current Inventory:

15* with Fujikura Pro 2.0 7 S Like New (This one may be more than $200 due to the pro 2.0 shaft which for some reason CPO think is an upcharge still)

16.5* (never offered retail loft) - Smoke iM10 5.5 Reg Like New

16.5* (never offered retail loft) - Rogue Silver 60 S Like New

So $200 - 25% off = $150 for a like new tour van clubhead is not bad.

Outlet Cond.  There are adhesive marks from the stickers, but never hit.   Unfortunately, I will have to hit it at least a few times even though my pref is a fade bias.

Bad news.  Draw Bias does not agree with me.  Back to Callaway Pre-Owned  it goes.
