I'll stick with my almost 10 year old irons

The TM 770, 790, Titleist T100, T200, Mizuno Forged, Tour, MP 223, even the MP225 all look and feel pretty good to me.  I am sure there are others I am leaving out(Callaway Rogue ST Pro, Honma) but you get the idea.  Not sure i'd want to give up the tech for the older clubs but everyone has their own likes and dislikes.

I feel you on Ping though.  That notch on the back of the hosel makes me wanna barf.  No way could I spend money on that abomination.

The Taylormade P7MC have been the only irons in the past few years that have caught my eye.

I have spent a little time looking at clubs in the big box and those all just feel hollow. they've been designed on a computer, shaped by a machine. They feel lifeless. That's the appeal of a Miura, especially the Craftsmen world models. I have sets of Hogan redlines, Sets of Founders Club 200 series - and they look slightly different from set to set. They all hit really nice, but it's all about the soul.

Soul don't help my ball get in the hole, LOL.  I get what you are saying but for me I kinda like the newer style.

Just by chance, I think you would like my backup bag. Not MC irons, but I do have the 2014 SLDRs - 4i through AW. Also found the TP 56* SW and R.Series Tour Grind 60* LW.

Played Callaway (2009) X20 Tours from 2011 through 2017. Started with PX 5.0 Rifle Flighted, and then reshafted with NS Pro 8950GH, R-flex. Finally got to point I needed more help in longer irons. Short irons were still good.

An interim set (before my current MAXs) were hollow-head irons, great until about 8i when the ball started to balloon a bit. The SLDRs beat this: ThruSlot help 7i and below, solid cavity heads 8i and above.

My set is from the 80’s! I e tried tons of new irons and ALWAYS go back to these on the photo. Just recently purchased a RBZ HL 17* 3? wood to play this upcoming season as well.

I have these irons, they’re amazing!

My gamers are 2016 models and I have no reason to change. I’ve tried some of the hollow bodied stuff and, as much as I like (and could use!) the tech, they’re just not for me.

I know that golf changes and evolves, but some of the new clubs I just simply do not like the look of.  The new Ping irons I'm sure are amazing but I just can't get behind the look.  All of the blade looking foam filled irons are neat, just not for me.  Looks but primarily price $$$  I figured out last season and it continued to this season that i prefer the 2011-2016 age range of irons.  Looks, feels, etc.

Anyone else prefer the older irons?

I'm still using my X2 Hot's which came out in 2014.  I'm partial to the look from Callaway and they haven't come out with anything I think would be better.  Maybe one day they will, but so far I don't think there is anything that checks all the boxes that the X2 Hot does.  I've tried a bunch of new irons and there just isn't any miracle to be found anymore.  Maybe next year?

I played my best golf in the early 00s with a 510TP/757, 200 Tours/Rifle steel, X16PS/Rifle and Vokey Oil Cans.

I'm just getting back into the game, and struggling a bit, so I took the X16s and wedges to the range as I know they have good shots in them.

Aaaaand they’re back in the bag.

The 510TP can go back to the cupboard though. Beautiful thing though it is.

I played a some of my best golf with Adams A4 Forged.

I semi seriously hunt for a good set on the bay from time to time to shaft up with some Fuji Pro 95i graphite.

Something about the cambered sole on those just worked great for me.

I'm with you, but I'm sporting some G30 irons from the same year.  I've used the spring face variant Ping G's, and liked them fine, but my personal preference is the older version because they have a thick face, and more solid sound and feel.

I'd still be playing S55's if it weren't for PXG's ST line, which is essentially a forged S55.

That being said, I do think modern irons are better than past irons for the average golfer. Foam filled irons have incredible looks and performance that didn't exist ten years ago IMO. The day I'm no longer a scratch or plus handicap golfer, I'm switching over to that tech.

I'm no where near the 10 year mark, but I'm still playing Taylormade PSis and have no plans to move away from them any time soon.  Headshape suits my eye, feel is really nice, and I know how far they go and how they interact through the turf.  I think I bought them in December 2015 and have been playing them ever since.

I'm playing Bridgestone JP40 DPCs which I think were released in 2011? Absolutely love them. I'm planning to send them off to be refinished before spring. Hard to find anything that checks all the boxes I prefer: mid size head, little to no visible offset, just enough forgiveness, no plastic badging. I figured why not refinish irons I love rather than shop around trying to find something similar. Plus, while refinishing is not cheap, it's less expensive than buying new irons.
