Already tired of listening to Frank Nobilo

Watching the Monday finish of the AT&T. Colt says that there hasn’t been a winner this year with more than 4 letters in their last name. Frank quickly responds “well that’s another useless stat”. Lol

Frank gets points from me for that one because I was literally thinking the same thing.

Unfortunately I am stuck in the past. I will miss Miller, Feherety, Enberg, Scully and Aliss, likely forever.  I think Keith Jackson did some golf too. Anyway, still stuck and agree with the notion that the announcers are beyond boring now.

I don't understand why a US based tour has foreign announcers/pundits/commentators/analysts or whatever they're called.

 

Just have US announcers.

It would easily still exist. Literally every golf announcer/analyst/host in history has been continually criticized here at WRX regardless of their nationality. Some people are continually miserable that way when watching golf.

I think he’s trying to cultivate a Johnny Miller “get off my lawn”, I’m a serious guy, not a goofball, type of persona. 
 

But JM had more cred to bust everybody’s chops and say peoples swings would make Ben Hogan puke

A buddy sent me back a text I sent him while I was watching the last part of the tournament at PGA National Sunday.  It read:

 

I drinking started a game.  Every Paul time Azinger mentions about pressure, I drink a take a.  I'm loaded f*(kin'.

 

I'm guessing Azinger mentions pressure a lot.

I don't believe Renton Laidlaw ever got criticized on here.  Or Denis Hutchinson.

 

But if you are referring to US announcers, well, maybe there is a reason they all seem to come in for some harsh reviews.

It's wrx.... your membership is in limbo if you don't hit it 350, don't change clubs once a year, and like a US based announcer.  Not sure how some of us survive it all, frankly.

Golf for Tennis, Nobilo might be on NBC, but he is a Kiwi, and I as an American, would love for him to leave and go to NZ TV to spew his bad analysis despite being a good player.

I have no issue with the guy. Makes great dad jokes when the other announcers give themselves giggle fits over questionable humor, verbally slaps Colt as needed which keeps that guy's mediocre-at-best commentary to a minimum, and doesn't prattle on just to hear himself talk.

 

Azinger & Knost are the only two recent additions I got tired of hearing, and Azinger I could mostly tune out prior to his contract not being picked back up. If Hell is real they'll have Knost & McCord on loudspeakers 24/7 and Azinger as the anchor & weather person on every news station.

Resurrect dead thread after a year to whine about Frank?  It’s not Frank who has issues.
